It was going on in my mind for quite a while now whether IPL should be banned. Looks like it should be, unless it keeps clean.

What makes everyone think that IPL is helping convert Blackmoney to White money, actually it is generating black money. Take this instance:

A person tries to buy tickets for an IPL match however he finds out that the tickets have sold out, which in reality the tickets have been sold to the middlemen at a premium, the middlemen that adds his margin and sells it to the actual buyer, so you see more black money created.

Instead the government should increase tax levied on the sale of tickets, that way we can cash on the cricket frenzy.

That is small time.

Money is being easily converted from black to white for the biggies.

Pay players in black (player already confessed to it in sting video) and gain money through ads, tv rights etc which would be white (cheque, bank transfer etc). This is just one scenario.

IPL is full of shit because no one cares who wins or not...it is not sport, it is a tamasha.

Don't ban IPL but suspend it completely unless ED conducts thorough investigation into every single transaction in the name of IPL.

Football is much more popular than Cricket all over the world. Can there be an IPL (in the same level as English premier league and Spanish La Liga) in football which will also make India a world power in Football and football world cup. We have the second largest population in the world yet we cannot produce world class footballers.

If what I have said above is not possible then it's a shame that Indians love cricket only for the sake of money and IPL cheerleaders.

I dont watch it, at this point the entire thing feels like an organized betting racket for a certain elite bunch of people., but why ban? The real problem is corrupt money/politicians getting in, not the ipl itself.

Another example is the movie business here, a large majority of the cash these days is from politicians, who have had their children/grand children (in some cases themselves...J.K Riteesh lol) open production houses, take movies and declare them a smash hit", and show awesome collections...seems like an operation legalize their stuff, cant ban the movie industry for it.
