This movie attempts to make spoof of the original , though it parades as a sequel to it .
So whats the story ??
The three musketeers are now semiretired , especially because they have been duped by a woman . Of course , the rebellious spirit is still there , but they are more like rebels in search of a worthy cause--and cant find it .
Enter a goodlooking young man from the countryside aptly called titanium ( )who rubs everyone the wrong way--and you have a fourth musketeer.....
Along with the young man comes a worthy cause--finally.....
There is a plot to defame the young queen of France by proving that she is having an affair with ' buckingham ' ( ) , as the king of England is known as . This scandal will remove the only sobering influence on the french king , a dilettante who suspiciously has the manners of a homo , and who is incapable of exercising power without the queen's advice.
Naturally , it is the four musketeers who have save the honour of France....
And save they do....but in what manner ??
The whole thing is shown more like a comedy , and a rather stupid one at that......
Not even the special effects of 3D are able to give entertainment in this venture in which the musketeers are reduced to a joke , and the whole thing becomes a laughable affair . The great french novelist , Alexander Dumas , who wrote the three musketeers in the nineteenth century, must be turning in the grave to see such a parody of his novel .
.....Or maybe , he should be thankful that hollywood is keeping his memory alive by creating yet another movie--stupid as it may be--on his novel .
At the end of the movie , the director has actually kept some of the movie's villains alive in a pathetic attempt to keep the option open for a further sequel to this movie .....
......Now who is going to watch another sequel to this ??!!
Verdict--not good
