Arjuna comes in the 21st century avtar in an animated movie by the masters of animation----Walt Disney , who else.....and in hindi....

The story starts with a young boy being told the story of Arjuna by a female---and the surprise of the movie is the identity of the female.....it was enough to make the audience clap.....

Sadly ,the surprise is the only bright point of the movie....
.....For the movie ends with the defeat of the Kaurava forces by Arjuna as they attack the Kingdom of king Viraat.....

For those expecting to see the heroics of the valiant Arjuna on the epic battlefield of Kurukshetra , this will come as a huge disappointment......
No battle with the grand old Bheeshma and no confrontation with the ill-fated Karna.....

Even the battle for Viraat is finished rather quickly....No drama that one would expect from the fight between the kurus and Arjuna....[IMG]

One oddity is that the blind Dhritarashtra is shown as a dwarf !!.....half the height of his wife Gandhari.....

The movie simply lacks soul and emotion , especially when juxtaposed with the fact that the movie makers have been given a readymade script---the Mahabharata what else , which is replete with emotional and dramatic moments.

The atmosphere of rivalry and bitterness between the Kauravas and PAndavas during childhood is well displayed however with the Kauravas led by Duryodhan making devilish plans to finish off the Pandavas by allying with barbaric tribes from the forest , but as adulthood beckons the movie loses steam......

Verdict---not good .
