ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali Khan has supported the right of self determination to Kashmiris and assured the APHC delegation that the party was in favour of a peaceful solution of the problem.
Talking to the visiting APHC delegation led by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, here Monday, the ANP President said it was the right of every nation to decide about its future and stressed that the UN should play its role in the attainment of rights by the Kashmiris.
After the meeting, Faiz Naqashbandi, representative of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere during which both sides gave their view point in a frank manner.
He said the APHC delegation told the ANP leader that Kashmiris would not agree to any settlement other than independence. They said that more than one lakh Kashmiri youths, elders and women have sacrificed their lives and there was not a single family in Kashmir, whose member has not embraced martyrdom.
The APHC delegation stressed that all the political parties must extend support to the Kashmiris setting aside any considerations.
