This sort of gives an overview of the LokPal Bill as seen by the Opposition.

    The issues are pertinent.

But the issue is what should be the ideal Lokpal Bill that allows the Lokpal to be a body that has the wherewithal to ensure that the society is kept on the straight and narrow, and yet at the same time, does not become a ogre!

this may sound pessimistic but for the foreseeable future i can't see this scenario happening in India.

i would even make a wild guess and say that 90% of people would demand bribes if they were in a situation to do so.

only way to remove corruption "overnight" is anna's original way! ie cut of hands and heads of corrupt people.

Easy ways to reduce corruption burden of aam aadmi on day to day basis

-reduce red tape ie reduce number of hands that each file has to pass through
-implement a time limit within which the work has to be processed otherwise person gets sacked (due to less red tape it would be easier to identify person who it at fault) eg. Person x has to get ration card made...the time limit should be 2 months. the person will have to get ration card within 2 months or the person to whom he submitted documents to get the work done gets fired.
-computerize the whole procedure...no more shite excuses like "file kho gaya"

there are always backups brigadier in computerization. in delhi judiciary has been computerized and judges get all cases in realtime on touchscreen rather than flipping torn out dusty files with pages falling in between. due to success in delhi high court it will soon be implemented in all courts throughout India. It has only begun!

dfi would also be having a backup on someones hard disk.

Manu Singhvi sounded like a argumentative frivolous child in front of Jaitly blurting out technicalities which he himself did not understand

The amazing thing is even it is proved now that Indians dont have balls to oppose the govt's hypocrisy, also, it cannot even question, leaders like lallu prasad and sonia maino aka Italian godmother

I am for ANNA instead of against, I think I wasnt clear enough, what I am refering too is the low turnout in mumbai and delhi. I mean , how long are we planning to tolerate Indian politics... Is there a visible end? This was a golden oppurtunity (the next in 2014 of not electing italian mafia would obviously be ignored and congrass would again come to power). i Am 100% sure about 60% of India's GDP must be in some account of swiss bank, Look around you , see the businesses popping up??? with these busineses, its impossible to be just a trillion dollar economy, our total economy must be somewhere around 3-5 trillion, ofcourse none of it is used for development, but thats a completely different issue... I wonder why politicians here dot have brains like those of China do, and if someone makes the excuse of problems in land acquisation, protests etc, I am sure they are kidding, if political muscle can be used in polling booths why not on these idiots??

Sanghvi is Mr Adjective and just another lawyer.

Jaitley, on the other hand, is articulate and very forceful with his facts.

His speech carries the essence of the issue.

There is no doubt that the Congress, having realised the embarrassment that would have been caused if their was a vote in the Rajya Sabha, filibustered and choreographed chaos through their hand maiden Laloo and his henchman, and made a mockery to reach the 'witching hour' of midnight, when the dutiful Chairman, with feigned consternation asked all to go home, even though it was evident that apart from the Congress, all were ready to carry on till voting!!

Manu Singhvi was filibustring in Parliament along with other members of the Treasury benches. That is why we had a lesson in Grammar from him on Colon and semi colon.
It was very clear that the Govt. did not have the numbers to go in for a vote. Had they been defeated in the RS then the calls for resignation would have grown very loud. They played dirty and did not have the guts to come to inform the House that they would need more time to work out on the various amendments.
