listen to this talk show with Najam Sethi from 13mins onwards.

hints are being clearly made of a revolt emerging from within the armed forces from the conservative lot who are completely against the WoT and this group within seems to be in constant touch with the terror outfits like AQ and if so, this game seems much bigger than just the 313 brigade or AQ, its more like the pak armed forces are breaking from within with the supposedly liberal lot and more specifically the top brass siding with the americans and the conservative lot seeing these chaps as traitors and taking it upon themselves to do something about it, next target on cards is chaklala airbase, rawalpindi, with a similar commando style action expected.

saleem shahzad was hinting at the same thing though he for now was just pointing fingers at the PN and not the others 2 forces but it is emerging the disconnect is across the forces and if the pak armed forces or more specifically the top brass was not to tackle this upfront then they are up for troubled times.

look forward to a healthy discussion, thanks.

This news comes after there were reports of PAF men involved in sabotage if f 16 so they can not be used against the militants.

PA sticks to there reputation as cowards, and repeatedly we have seen them running from fight

So all in all time is ripe for a internal war, more power to them :D

I'd say these are only the results from a long churning process of extremist and fundamentalist ideologies in Pakistan.
This has happened for decades, across the various age groups, income groups, regions and professions.
The poison is spread in entire Pakistan, we're only looking at the symptoms in the biting teeth (that is the armed forces).
When the extent of radicalization would overcome the sound of Americans coins raining over - that could be the day when Pakistan's destiny would take frightening turns.

Its not the government of Pakistan , its not the ISI, its the Pakistani Army which is the culprit. It has always believed in the theory of divide and rule.Zia Ul Haq islamisized the defence forces and the radical officers of that time are currently sitting at top posts in the defence services. Hardly surprising that the whole lot of Pakistani defence services are getting infected with this Amerika/Hindu/Jew hating jehadi virus.

Former PM of India Mr. AB Vajpayee once said that terrorism is a double edged sword. How correct he was! Today after seeing the condition Pakistan is in due to its own misdeeds, these words of Vajpayee Ji keep on coming in my mind again and again.

We don't even know at what level this radicalization has happened. Ad far as WoT is concerned then we know that Top down everyone is against it and are just unwilling partners under US pressure.

If we see from Zia on, then radicalization starts from right on top.

Pakistans selective policy towards terror is what's hitting it now.

If there is any mutiny, it will only be by those who are openly against the US against those who are on it by compulsion (US pressure). That apart there is no difference in any ideology.

There is no doubt that the Pakistani Armed forces were radicalized during the Zia regime. Whether it started from the top or from the bottom is debatable, but the core issue remains the same, that the Pakistani forces are radicalized and it is spreading vehemently .history gives us many instances when Officers of the Pakistani defence services have tried to eliminate head of the nation. The attack on Pervez Musharraf's convoy and the subsequent arrest of a few Air force officers is a proof of that. Besides, the main point is that it happend after the Lal Maszid attack in islamabad. That was the starting point of two things- 1) Terrorism in Pakistan to avenge the killings of Lal Maszid. and 2) Radicalization of the Pakistani defence Officers who considered this attack as an attack on Islam and Muslims en masse by a 'secular' American stooge called Pervez Musharraf. That was it! That was the start of Pakistan's destruction.

I have always felt that all attacks on Musharraf were staged. If there was a real attack he would have been killed long back.

Even I had a hunch like this. But, anyways, There are people in pakistan and especially in the Pakistani forces who are upset with PM for making an alliance with Amerika.

The mutiny inside the pak armed forces increases the chances of a 'rouge' nuke attack on india, handing over a dirty bomb to terrorists to explode it in a western country.

i think the final dying moments of pakistan would be in China's arms!

Yes, without a doubt, they have the ability to do the coup! the pak army practically owns the country!

but at the moment Kayani is letting civil govt to be at the fore front and he controls from behind the scenes. if he could act with a remote control, why come out in the open?

they want to show the world that they are following democratic proces and behaving like a civilised country!

The Najam Sethi episode starting 30:30 is interesting.

He said that senior officers are actually interested in establishing relations with Israel and in Musharraf era they tried to do something in this regard. However, the political climate was not suitable.

This shows that at times PA officers do think in realist terms. Don't know who much they last though.
