An interesting summary of the cost that logistics is accounting for in the war in Afghanistan.

There seems to be no straight answer, unless the US can take Iran on board so that the route from Chabahar (Iranian port) via the Highway into Afghanistan can be opened. If that happens, then the cost will drop very drastically.

    However, will that happen?

Will the Jasmine Revolution jostle Iran to have a regime change or what can be done to have the Mullah brigade that governs Iran to have some thaw in the US Iran relationship?
