Going to be some reposts here, but I have to say...

Look to the left and see the gateway and city. Those cities had to be pretty damn impressive.They had many 2-3 story tall structures. None of these buildings survives from BC and backwards, but the fact the stupa gateways with these relief images are intact is a god sent.

*Keep in mind they had limited space, so they scaled down, obviously.

Again, these are repost, but you can see the city gates more closely. And massive city behind it. Really impressive..

You can see those arches repeating over and over and over again. And the railing designs, etc.
