APG77 and APG81

    CETC No. 14 Research Institute's Chinese "APG77" equivalent sucessfully selected in 11.2010 for J-20, some features such as Multifuntion Integrated RF are on par with "APG81":

    for those who read Chinese.

    It is an official article prasing the team who put years of effort into developing the XX radar.

    Our Indian friends are, as usual, free to choose between believing and not believing in any advancement made by China. :pound:

    Good use has been made of the radar that lost the bidding contest.

    No prizes for guessing which aircraft has installed this radar......

    I hasten to add that the team, as is common nowadays with so many groups working in the defence industry, has an average age of 30.:thumb:

    And this Chinese team isn't actually too coy about their exploits, some of them end up in Chinese media officially.

    According to the article, major breakthroughs have been made in, but not limited to, the following key areas:

    (1) Integrated design for composite layer structure
    (2) Stealthy target detection
    (3) Electromagnetic countermeasure(ECM)
    (4) SAR spatial plane imaging
    (5) High precision positioning
    (6) Simultaneous multi-function capability
    (7) Atenna fusion

    Aren't those AESA radars? J-20 uses PESA...
