Having been routed in the last General Election, it appears not only the Congress has lost its co.cky arrogant swagger, but also seems to be ready to dump all its cherished 'ideals'.

They thought they could ingratiate themselves to the Muslims, but the Muslims have seen through the game.

And now they are abandoning the Muslim cause that they have worn on their sleeve.

The Congress is surely in a brain haemorrhaging mode.

`Proximity` is a polite word IMO.

Wasn't it Sri Manmohan Singh who said minorities have first right over the resources of the country ?

people will be supportive to all untill others take away their daily bread in the form of reservations of the minority when that happens congress will have its hands burnt for being so called minority friendly and playing vote bank politics.............. remember if all the majority people become votebank and start to vote for BJP then you can kiss congress goodbye

Muslims must have first claim on resources: PM
    PTI | Dec 9, 2006, 06.28PM IST

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said plans for minorities, particularly Muslims, must have the
first claim on resources so that benefits of development reach them equitably.

"We will have to devise innovative plans to ensure that minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are empowered to
share equitably the fruits of development. These must have the first claim on resources," he said in his address at the 52nd meeting of the National Development Council here.

The Centre's resources, he added, will be stretched with greater responsibility given to states in this regard.

"The Centre has a myriad other responsibilities whose demands will have to be fitted within its overall resource
availability," he said. "The Planning Commission will undertake a thorough review of ongoing programmes to eliminate those which have outlived their original rationale," Singh added.

Singh also emphasised that special component plans for Scheduled castes and Scheduled tribes were needed to revitalise the country.

Last month, the Prime Minister favoured fair share for minorities in government and private jobs as he spoke at the
meeting of the National Commission for minorities.

    This is a good development,

If Congress turn itself into a secular party. It will be good for Indian Democracy

This elections it is said that Modi got a sizeable chunk of the Muslim votes.

Hence, the old theory that Muslims preferred the Congress has gone for a toss and the Muslims have realised that Congress doing anything for the Muslims is a mere mirage and that they have to stand up on their own.

It is important for India, to check the BJP party, just as we need one to check the Congress Party.

As a secular, progressive, liberal minded person with capitalist views on economy and personal responsibility with a hawkish stance geo politics and foreign policy. I want India to have to two strong parties with such ideals. Congress became as such, because there were never any real opposition to it.

The problem with Congress is that It competes with SP / BSP/ RJD / JDU for Muslim
    votes in UP and Bihar

So it has to indulge in appeasement tactics

But Congress being the National Party ; such appeasement tactics
badly backfired in not only these two states but ALSO in other states

When Sonia meets Bukhari it caused an ALL India Impact
    of polarisation
