Personally I like the French plan better. Subsidize discounts for electric vehicles and spend money installing charging stations. It doesn't really require new infrastructure.

How long does it take to fully charge an electric car the size, capacity, and range of, say a Citroën C5 Tourer?

  • POWER (the rate of doing WORK) is dependent on TORQUE and RPM.
  • TORQUE and RPM are the MEASURED quantities of engine output.
  • POWER is CALCULATED from torque and RPM, by the following equation: HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252

So you can get x Power with:
  • y Torque and z RPM (less efficient)
  • 2y Torque and 0.5z RPM (more efficient)

Conclusion:
Well, draw your own conclusions.

I have a Fluence ZE that charges in 8 hrs overnight or 30 minutes at the quick charge stations. We recently got the battery swap at Better Place that takes 3 minutes.

It costs €4 for a quick charge.

With this quick charge how many Kms does the car run.

Of course it cannot. This is one of the reasons, why this judgment will be overturned by the SC. Some parts maybe implemented.

However if the refineries start supplying clean fuel as per European norms then I am sure a large percentage of pollution in our cities will drop.

The Oil majors had raised a big ruckus when they were asked to supply lead free petrol and they only did it under the orders of the higher courts.

anybody read about peak oil?

WikiLeaks cables: Saudi Arabia cannot pump enough oil to keep a lid on prices | Business | The Guardian

The cables, released by WikiLeaks, urge Washington to take seriously a warning from a senior Saudi government oil executive that the kingdom's crude oil reserves may have been overstated by as much as 300bn barrels – nearly 40%.
.......
According to the cables, which date between 2007-09, Husseini said Saudi Arabia might reach an output of 12m barrels a day in 10 years but before then – possibly as early as 2012 – global oil production would have hit its highest point. This crunch point is known as "peak oil".

Because of this hyped news, main news has been gone out of context, and that's what media does."©The plea was actually for providing CNG gases for price same as Delhi and Mumbai."©"©Central Govt provides CNG at very high rate than other cities like Delhi, Mumbai. CNG is around 51 rs here and around 38 rs in delhi.Gujarat Congress always cries foul whenever there's hike in CNG price by gspc or adani. And gujju newspapers use very lower level of language whenever there's something occurs and make it anti modi."©"©Court ordered Central govt to provide gujarat CNG at same rate of delhi, mumbai."©"©Ironically, Gujarat congress just released its menifesto yesterday which stated that they will provide CNG and petrol at very low cost. Now what should one think about it.And 2nd irony is they promised about price cut on the day when there's announcement of hike in petrol price. Loosers....:rotflmao:

@VIP, maybe the rates for VAT in Delhi and Gujarat need to be checked. In Delhi initially the tax on CNG was 2%, slowly the Government has tried to increase it in the last budget but due to large scale protests even from the Congress MLAs the idea was dropped.

"¨"¨"©VAT isn't the issue here, states get CNG supply from central govt at different rates according to pollution level of cities.A'bad has same level of pollution as delhi, mumbai but central govt provides to a'bad at higher rate than others. And a petition was filled for it and HC directed central govt for it.I would love to see congi morons' faces after this ruling.
