Redundancies failed too? These sort of stories somehow project that not enough planning is done on how to handle failure. I'm fairly certain thats not the case, but news somehow seems to project it that way.

They did have a protocol to hide in the bunker, honestly that seems reasonable to me. In this world of technology, one never knows what might happen, we cannot be too reliant on technical prowess alone. If China or US uses some sort of jammer which makes radars inactive (or simply commando action which manages to cut off power supply), then the next step is that they will try to hit the radar with a missile to disable it permanently. In that case what other option do we have other than hiding in the bunker?

This is very disturbing news though, precisely because there are not details and there will be no details due to the nature of the news. We will just have to take their word for it and hope for the best. "Radar went kaput", well, umm...okay.

Surgical strikes happened last night ...
What are you referring to? was there a second surgical strike?

The drill also involves ferrying the aircraft to safety and security taking positions.

Why the panic triggered by a malfunction of a radar? Or am I missing something here? It happens quite often even at hi tech airports in Mumbai and Delhi.

It could be a technical glitch..but since the situation at border is hyper and the location of the incident is at Kashmir ...media and people must have read too much into it.
But India should be on guard glitch or not!
