@Zarvan you guys do not produce metal which can be made for tanks.
How you can call it indigenous? o_O
@Navnit Kundu
Bro, no need to troll. Pakistan has no steel production plant. Now, you know how much indigenous it is. :amen:

I think you never heard of Asia Largest steel mill in Karachi.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_Steel_Mills
What the hell?
Largest in Asia? Read your own link.
It's standard is within South Asia plus it still needs foreign assistance.
How much weapon grade steel will be drawn from it?

Moreover, it is defunct.
Divided capacity is far far weaker than you need. Almost useless.
By the way, India's JSPL is planning to put steel production plant there.
Here's the map of countries in steel production from your wikilink.

And again, quantity, how much steel you will need to make weapons. Surely, end up with importing it.
And remember, it's still far far smaller than needed.

OK in that case Kindly provide statistics which you have, how much we needed and how much we are producing for defense related productions.

Above all if we require additional steel China is a big market.

Case Closed

Hi, how r u doing, check this link for starters, it has a lot to do you know what ;)

http://www.psmltd.com/
India uses AB/A grade steel meanwhile.
Well, what's meaning of giving link this site?
First point of quantity required still remains.
you produce 2.5 million tonnes steal annually. How much would be left for defense industry and how much would you first use in other products.
End up with importing steel.

No Sir all the parts either Chinese or Pakistani origin and as per reports Al Khalid performance is not satisfactory that is why why P.A decided to go for totally new platform. Al Khalid is not forced on us we opted for that even after Chinese suggestion against it. Now it is 100% confirmed new tank will be MBT-3000 without any modification and will produce in HIT with TOT.
you are absolutely wrong, HIT and Army officials are very satisfied with Al khalid's performance and have rejected the MBT 3000 after a dismal show in recent trials.

The Al khalid 2 is also being readied and there is even a schematic of it on HIT's website,

check here in the flash animation

Al Khalid II's two prototypes build by HIT but after crisis in Ukraine they scrape the project because no suitable engine available. Al Khalid & Al Khalid I are both quite average tanks no export orders only few from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and even these were from China as a MBT 2000...For the same reasons China refuses to induct them. PA i looking for modern tank and MBT 3000 is the most reasonable and adorable choice and as per reports we are going to induct them with minor changes.

your information is quite incorrect, whoever your source is, is disinforming you big time, AK's performance is at least twice as good in terms of firepower, mobility, armor protection and network warfare than the T-80UD, Hencem they have decided to outfit the UDs with the same thermal imager as Al khalids.

check here... Shibli electronics is an excellent integrator of Thales thermal imagers and have come up with very effective solutions on their own. read them here. in fact, there entire fleet is being integrated with Catherine FC thermal imager including the Al Zarrars, T-69s, UD and Al khalids already have them for a while.

In that case if the Al Khalid is that much superior then why we evaluate T-80 UD first place....?

Because AL Khalid was at early stages of development and took 10 years to enter the trial batch production in 2001. In the mean time, Pakistan MBT fleet was vulnerable with just 300 type85IIAP as the spearhead of armor corps. By early 93, Tanks that were considered to fill in as a stop gap solution were:

1: M-84 from Yugoslavia
2: surplus t-72s from Russia if possible
3: polish pt-91 series was also looked into
4: TR-85 was also an option

So, Wikipedia's credibility is not reputable enough? Even your fellow brethren has admitted that it's just a foreign designed made under TOT, no indigenous design. Arjun has at least 70% indigenous design, only peripherals like night vision are foreign, and even that is purchased because it's cheaper to buy peripherals off the shelf than to start a dedicated R&D department for each small component.

Al Khalid is just Chinese MBT2000 with Pakistani paint and grass camouflage. If Pakistan had at least added a polio drops dispenser in the tank then it would have been a commendable upgrade.

Al Khalid initial design was based on MBT-2000 buy not any more you Indians are way to dumb and blind to see. AL KHALID just after induction went through massive changes from engine to other systems and even Gun were bought from Ukraine and France and other parts of the world. So get your facts right before showing your ignorance over and over again
