Do these pilots tie their hairs. I can see one having on forehead under her helmet. Or these are just propaganda pictures ?RIP She was very unlucky, reportedly hitting another plane's wing in the parachute jump.

To me it seems they allow women hair on forehead as long as it doesn't cover eyes.I'm not sure. Below is what she appeared in an airshow.
There're reasons why so few female pilot is in service IMO.

Russian MiG-29 fighter jet crashes in Mediterranean

The Russian defence ministry confirmed the MiG 29 fighter came down close to the Admiral Kuznetsov carrier yesterday afternoon after suffering mechanical problems.
It is believed that the jet had attempted to land on the vessel following a training mission, but was unable to and instead plunged into the water.

According to Fox News, two US intelligence officials said that a rescue helicopter then picked up a parachute and the pilot, who the Russian defence ministry confirmed is safe after he ejected and was taken aboard the carrier.
The wreckage of the aircraft is believed to have been recovered but Russian officials confirmed flights over the Mediterranean would be continuing.
The crash deals a significant blow to the Russians, who are planning to launch airstrikes against rebel-held areas of Aleppo in Syria from the aircraft carrier.
It comes just days after a flotilla of Russian warships sailed to the eastern Mediterranean off the Syrian coast after being sent to back up a bombing campaign in support of President Bashar al-Assad.
The commander of Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, Sergei Artamonov, said last week via videolink that the ships are now in the 'designated zone... in the eastern Mediterranean' and 'are now jointly carrying out tasks, manoeuvering to the west of the Syrian coast'.
The battle group has travelled from the North Sea through the English Channel in the biggest such naval deployment in recent years as part of Russia's military intervention in Syria.

Russia has been flying a bombing campaign in Syria for the past year in support of President Assad and has deployed a naval contingent to back up its operation.
The naval task force has been monitored closely by NATO, whose chief Jens Stoltenberg voiced concern the ships would be used to support the Russian military operation in Syria and 'increase human and civilian suffering.'
Armtamonov confirmed days ago that aircraft are already taking off from the ship's deck to view the conflict zone.
'Flights are being carried out from the deck... they are working on coordination with the shore port,' he said.
'The flights have been going on practically every day for the last four days,' he added.

Less than three weeks after losing a MiG-29, it looks like the Russian Navy has lost another aircraft during Admiral Kuznetsov operations: a Su-33 Flanker.
Military sources close to The Aviationist report that a Russian Navy Su-33 Flanker carrier-based multirole aircraft has crashed during flight operations from Admiral Kuznetsov on Saturday, Dec. 3.
According to the report, the combat plane crashed at its second attempt to land on the aircraft carrier in good weather conditions (visibility +10 kilometers, Sea State 4, wind at 12 knots): it seems that it missed the wires and failed to go around falling short of the bow of the warship.
The pilot successfully ejected and was picked up by a Russian Navy search and rescue helicopter.
Considered that on Nov. 14 a MiG-29K crashed while recovering to the aircraft carrier, if confirmed this would be the second loss for the air wing embarked on Admiral Kuznetsov in less than three weeks and a significant blow for the Russian Naval Aviation during its combat deployment off Syria.

Less than three weeks after losing a MiG-29, it looks like the Russian Navy has lost another aircraft during Admiral Kuznetsov operations: a Su-33 Flanker.

Yet another U.S. F/A-18 has just crashed in Japan. It’s the 9th Legacy Hornet lost in 6 months and the crash rate is alarming.

An F/A-18 Hornet stationed in Japan has crashed in the Yamaguchi prefecture. The pilot has ejected but his fate is unknown.
Reports are emerging that a U.S. F/A-18 Hornet has crashed earlier today in Japan. Rescue efforts to recover the pilot would be underway.
Although no further details are available at this time, the fact that the aircraft was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, seems to suggest the jet involved in the crash was a U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18C/D model.
If confirmed this would be the 9th major incident involving a “Legacy Hornet” (including the Canadian CF-18 lost on Nov. 28, 2016) in the last 6 months.
Although each crash has its own root causes and may depend on several contributing factor (including the human error), we can’t but observe, once again, that the rate of crashes involving legacy Hornets is alarming.
Two U.S. Marine Corps F-18 Hornets from MCAS Miramar crashed on Nov. 9 near San Diego. Another one on Oct. 25. A Swiss Air Force Hornet was lost on Aug. 29, whereas a Navy F/A-18C crashed on Aug. 2. On Jul. 27 USMC F/A-18 crashed so as the Blue Angels Hornet that crashed on Jun. 2.
This is how we commented the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 crash:
“In the wake of the Hornet crashes from June through October, the U.S. Marine Corps temporarily grounded its non-deployed Hornets. Unfortunately, few days after the ban was lifted, two more F/A-18Cs were lost on Nov. 9.
Hornet crashes over the last year have depleted the number of available airplanes for training and operations. According to USNI News the service had 85 Hornets available for training, compared to a requirement for 171.
In order to face the critical shortage of operational fighters caused by both crashes and high operational tempos, the U.S: Marine Corps has launched a plan that will see Boeing upgrade 30 retired legacy Hornets (currently stored at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona) to a standard dubbed F/A-18C+.
With this upgrade, that will also embed new avionics, the service will be able to keep up with its operational tasks until the F-35 is able to take over.
Once upgraded to the C+ standard, these “gap fillers” should be more than enough to conduct combat operations in low-lethality scenarios like those that see the USMC at work these days.

Helicopter crashes near Mumbai, one killed

One person has died and 3 others were injured after a chopper crashed near Mumbai.
The chopper had crashed around noon at Aarey colony area in Goregaon, a Mumbai suburb.
Three others, who had sustained burn injuries, have been admitted in the nearby hospital.
The Robinson R44 Astro chopper belonged to Aman Aviation, which offers joy rides in the city.
The chopper which crashed was taking people on a Sunday joyride.

The aircraft involved in the accident was reportedly taking part in a nighttime refueling exercise with a KC-130 tanker aircraft. The Osprey’s rotor apparently severed a hose during the refueling attempt, forcing it to later ditch into the sea, 1 kilometer off the coast of Nago.
The accident injured two of the five crew members on board. All were later rescued by the U.S. 33rd Rescue Squadron from Kadena Air Base and taken to a local U.S. naval hospital. All Osprey operation in the country has been suspended.

A Sukhoi-30MKI fighter plane crashed in Shivkar Kudia village in Barmer, Rajasthan, hours after an IAF Chetak helicopter crash-landed in Allahabad. All pilots are reported to be safe, with the two pilots in the Sukhoi ejecting before the plane crashed, while the two pilots in the helicopter survived their crash landing.
Three locals have been injured in Barmer, DD News reported.
The jet crashed during a routine sortie. The incident took place hours after a Chetak helicopter of the Indian Air Force crash-landed in Uttar Pradesh, moments after it took off from an airbase on the outskirts of Allahabad on Wednesday morning.

A Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan on Wednesday. Both the pilots ejected safely.
An IAF official said the aircraft was on a routine training sortie when it crashed near the Utarlai air base in the afternoon. This is the seventh crash of a Su-30MKI aircraft since its induction in 1997.
Su-30MKI is the mainstay and the most modern fighter aircraft in the IAF inventory. India has contracted 272 Su-30MKIs from Russia of which over 230 have been inducted so far.
The last crash occurred in May 2015 near the Tezpur air base in Assam. Both pilots ejected safely. The crash was caused by a technical defect.
The entire fleet was grounded then as per procedure for safety checks.

Narayan Ram, his daughter-in-law and grandson were injured in the crash. They have been admitted to the district hospital, Circle Officer Barmer O.P. Ujjwal said.

“Villagers told us that the pilot ejected shortly before the crash. Air Force officials have been informed about the incident,” he said, adding that a hamlet was damaged in the crash.
