When are we getting these birds in India? Is the deal finalised?
Boeing to Start Delivering Military Helicopters in in 2018
Boeing Co. plans to start delivering military helicopters to India in 2018, two people familiar with the deal said.
After years of delay, India’s cabinet last week gave its final approval to buy 37 helicoptersfrom the Chicago-based defense and aeronautics company. The $3 billion deal will be completed by the middle of 2020, one of the people, who didn’t wish to be named, said Tuesday.
After getting final approval, India’s Defense Ministry signed contracts Monday to buy 15 CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopters and 22 AH-64E Apache multirole combat helicopters, according to the ministry and Boeing. The deals include options to buy an additional seven Chinook and 11 Apache helicopters.
The deal signing took place in New Delhi as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s was winding up a trip to the U.S.
While the aircraft are being acquired directly from Boeing, the Apaches’ onboard weapons, radars and some other components are being bought through the U.S. government’s foreign military sales route—a government-to-government mechanism for selling U.S. defense equipment.
The Boeing contract includes engines from General Electric Co. and Hellfire missiles from Lockheed Martin Corp.

India, US, Boeing sign Apache, Chinook deals
India signed a USD3 billion contract for 22 AH-64E Apache and 15 CH-47F Chinook helicopters with Boeing and the US government on 28 September, two days before the expiration of a deadline to sell both platforms at a price negotiated in 2013.

Ministry of Defence (MoD) officials in New Delhi said delivery of both platforms would begin in September 2018 and be completed by March 2020.

Boeing confirmed that the agreement included the option for India to acquire 11 additional Apaches and seven Chinooks.

The contract comprised a 'hybrid' deal for the Apaches, combining a Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) with Boeing for the platform and a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement with the US government for weapons, sensors, radar, training, and varied components.

Boeing to supply 50 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to British Army

Boeing is to supply 50 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the British Army, as part of a $2.3bn deal between the US and UK governments. To be flown by Army Air Corps pilots from the Joint Helicopter Command, the new fleet of Apaches can carry more weapons and use fuel more efficiently than their predecessors.

The first batch of helicopters is expected to be produced by 2020, and entered into service with the British Army in 2022. The helicopters offer improved computing capacity and updated sensors. UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said: “This deal will give the British Army an outstanding helicopter at good value for money for the UK taxpayer.

“It is part of our plan for more ships, more aircraft, more troops available at readiness, better equipment for special forces, more being spent on cyber. "That plan, backed by a rising defence budget will enable us to deal with the increased threats to our country.” The deal also includes an initial support contract for maintenance of the new helicopters, along with spare parts and training simulators for UK pilots.

UK ko 2.3bn mei 50 helos and hume 3bn mei 37? :hmm:
Let me try to address some of the very basic factors which effect on the price difference which you talk about.

1) For helicopters, Indian deal is with Boeing company itself and not US govt.
That means no FMS for helicopters. And that will effect price.

2) India didn't sign those basic agreement yet, it will effect on price too.

3) Indian deal has $ 1 billion of defence offset. Keep it in mind, defence offset is not a free lunch.

4) Different configuration of the helicopters will change the cost of the system.

5) Indian order is a mix of Apache and Chinook where as other order is for Apache.

6) What else India is buying with helicopters in this particular deal, it will effect the total amount of this deal too.
