A very sad incident,

I doubt they choose this particular day, if they wanted to do something relating to this day then they would have attacked a government office.

the terrain is bad. the equipments are substandard, MPVs are the one who get blown up and kill the occupants, UAVs cant detect maoist movement (now what even the harop and herons are useless- stop blaming the manufacturers) reinforcements doesnt come up and yes the moral is not high either.

problem is not jsut with training, its complete failure

willpower to eliminate them is lacking...otherwise it would take couple of months to entirely dismantle naxals.

ask me i'll tell. this IED are not what you see with military, but just made by stone powder and gelitine sticks used in mines... they very easy to get in here.. i personally seen them and even 100kg landmines made by these naxals..

my personal advise to CISF and CRPF to completely abandon there Ops here, as you cant win... here...

Just tell the Govt until the proper Infrastructure and weapons are given we cant go in this forests...

what ever they produce, they dont give them to their cadre before... because they are afraid of episionage.. generally a group controlling area are called Dalam, ....... their is structure.... u dont understand and never seen them,..

coming to your point, the all weapons produced are kept in a dump near by the target.... so they dont always have AK's or Rockets with them..

Army should be given operational command of the area. Move a few RR or Assam Rifles Unit or Raise new ones. Joint training and declare Naxal Hit Areas as CI Ops.

CRPF is a sitting duck. And even we are failing to understand the magnitude of the spread of Naxalism. I believe there are more causalities in the Red Corridor than NE or J&K as it seems. Atleast 25-30 RR or Assam Rifles type Battalions. or converting the CRPF deployed there into something like that and gve the responsibility of training to them.

Also the main problem remains in the ideology of maoists which a democracy can never fullfill so India has to look at other methods.

If only this country happen.... unless and until we all Indians realize that only politicians feed terrorists whether internal or external, we will continue losing sons of our land to this evil. There has to be a political revolution by the people of our country. If we are indeed a true democracy then we should show it. But sadly we are so dis-united that while the soldier in uniform dies so that we could live, we cannot even unite to save his life or even thank him in kind rather than the ceremonial candle-light mockery.

Very sad.

CISF DG rushes to Kirandul

Senior officials from paramilitary CISF and the Union Home Ministry today rushed to Kirandul, a day after Naxals ambushed a CISF team and killed six troops and a civilian driver in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district. CISF director general Rajiv, accompanied by joint secretary (Naxal Management) in the Home Ministry MA Ganapathy, CISF Special DG RR Varma and Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Jaideep Prasad left for Kirandul to review the security situation at the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) mines area.

The CISF jawans, including a head constable and five constables, were on patrol duty at the NMDC facility in Kirandul when armed Naxals ambushed them with heavy gunfire at around 2130 hours yesterday.

The CISF top brass is scheduled to hold a meeting with local police, administration and NMDC officials to chalk out a fresh security plan for the mines area in the Bailadila region, where skirmishes between Naxalites and security forces are frequent.

According to sources, the CISF, in the aftermath of the incident, may increase its troop strength in the area and ask NMDC to build more watch towers and enhance the perimeter security of the mines area.

During the ambush last night, the jawans, onboard a Bolero vehicle being driven by a civilian driver, were killed after a brief retaliation as the security personnel were soon outnumbered by the attacking Naxal squad.

The Naxals also looted five AK-47 rifles, one INSAS gun and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to the CISF men after they fell to their bullets.

The Kirandul-Bacheli mines of the NMDC in the jungles of Dantewada are a Naxal hotbed. The CISF director general had a few months back reviewed the security of the mines area.

The officials from Delhi and the state government will also pay their last respects to the martyred troops, who bodies will subsequently be sent to their home states.

Out of the six dead CISF men, four hailed from Rajasthan while two others were from Assam and Karnataka.

who is naxal? naxal is the one who is poorest of the poor. he is the one who is cut off from the main stream lucrativeness. he got no ambition for future and only a troubled past in which every misery is linked to the corruption and bad intentions of the govt.
who is responsible for his apathy? who exploited him? the elites- of his village or town or hamlet. since childhood he developed a hatred for elites, and those who get facilities from society.
the sense of deprivation and pain and insult he gets everyday makes him prone to factions like PLA etc. then comes traumatic loss to his life or his friend or relative in form of mass insult, torture or death of his loved ones. the break even has been achieved and now he is no more bounded by worldly restrictions- he now owns a gun and desire to shoot.

no plan, no road, no job, no silly govt ad can take away this in built desire to wipe out everything. its not the brainwashing but his in built desire to destroy the system responsible for all his messed up life. and he is determined to take it away and crush it.

he is not doing it for jungles, society or masters, he is doing it for self and that too in revenge mood and as we know revenge is the purest of all emotion and so powerful that it may lead to death.

a determined person v/s a low salary low moral ill-equipped soldier in a jungle which is home to the killer/beast/naxal and death trap for soldier of govt.

we know then what will happen and how often it will happen

Combing operation intensified post Naxal attack

RAIPUR: A day after six CISF jawans and a civilian driver were killed in the Naxal attack in Dantewada district, police today intensified combing operation in the region.

Additional Director General of Police (anti-Naxal operation) Ramnivas said that in the wake of the ambush by the Naxals on the CISF troopers near Kirandul, additional police force has been dispatched to the forest to flush out the ultras.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General Rajeev and other senior officials have left for the spot of the ambush after discussing the future strategy with senior police officials from the state.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has condemned the incident and appealed to the jawans of police and other paramilitary forces to remain alert in the wake of the strike.

A CISF patrol team comprising six jawans, including a head constable and five constables, apart from the civilian driver of their Bolero vehicle, was ambushed by Naxals with heavy gunfire at around 0930 PM last night when they were guarding the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) facility near Kirandul.

According to Ramnivas, an unknown number of jawans are reported to have been injured in the ambush.

The Kirandul-Bacheli mines of the NMDC in the jungles of Dantewada are a Naxal hotbed and frequent clashes between the Naxals and the security forces are regular in the area.

Official sources had said that five AK-47 rifles, one INSAS gun and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to the CISF were looted by the Naxals after they killed the jawans.

The attack is seen as a major setback to the dialogue process between the state government and the rebels against the backdrop of abduction and subsequent release of Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon.
