How many poor people could be fed with he amount spent at these frivolous parades? Not trying to be a debbie downer but really, collective introspection is the need of the hour.
Please add something positive if you have in this thread. As you have admitted you have a disconnect with India so please dont add anything negative.

According to you no one should even celebrate Diwali/Gurupurab/Eid/Christmas since it could feed a lot.

26 Jan is no less than any festival and the best thing is that its a festival for all Indian citizens irrespective of caste/color/religion.

These sarders are stupid for serving other country instead of India. Specially those sarders who serve Britain, when British butchered Sikhs in Jalianwalabagh and destroyed Sikh kingdom. Still they serve British.

Jai Hind.

India will be again reunited. Screw 2 nation theory.
That's not the point.

Everyone has his wish to relocate and keep his identity intact and serve the country which feeds him.

I hope India gets united too but before that the India we have today needs to be united.

Disappointed with what my State, Karnataka, had featured in it's Tableau this year. Tipu Sultan is hardly reflective of Karnataka's cultural traditions or it's commitment to India. He initiated wars with every neighbour of Mysore, and the British were simply yet another adversary.

His treatment of Hindus and Christians in his own kingdom were far from cordial and impartial. He is still a reviled figure in Kerala(which is another State of our Republic, mind you). Pretty sure we had at least a 100 other worthy subjects to showcase and represent Karnataka!
