After another anniversary of the 2008 November 26 Mumbai attacks, the question of what happened to the investigation of the fake bullet proof jackets that resulted in the killing of several upright ATS officers remains a mystery.
Will the truth ever see the light of the day? or will the current government also remain party to one of the worst coverups in the modern Indian history?
Unless the rats are smoked out and burnt on stakes what is the guarantee that in the case of another attacks Indian jawans will not have to worry additionally about substandard equipment?
Those who made the vests, procured them and did the quality check should all be brought before justice and punished as party to murder.

I had some faith in the BJP but they also seem to be in the same boat as the Congress in the matter. They dont seem to go beyond lip service.

Was there an investigation? If at all there was one, who were the dirty gutter rats? And what was done to them?

As far as I know nobody seems to have been named or punished in that particular matter. It will be an injustice to the souls of hundreds who died in that carnage if those who facilitated the wiping out of the entry top leadership of Mumbai anti-terror set up leaving the organisation in total paralysis are not punished.

Imaginary analysis in the lead post.

Not the highest quality vest, may be yes. Fake, no.

There are no absolute bullet proof vest for point blank AK 47 burst. Some vest can stop a distant burst, some cannot. High political dictators in Latin America use the first kind, but these still do not save them. The other kind is commonly used by police, and special service personnel.

I am not up to date on the investigation. There were several reports about how substandard vests were supplied. And there was a hue and cry at that time. May be the link below throws some light:

If i'm right,Indian defence procurement mainly run by kick bags .So some company offer 100/- Bullet proof other company for just 40/-,we all know which company tender will be okay-ed .Govt babu's actually buys it for 120/- with Quality certificate.

So it is just like China made goods.Investigation don't go anywhere.Let's hope new govt will clean this mess created by SICKular Congress.
