To most of you, this is but a fairy tale.

But to those who are older, it is a nostalgic journey.

I remember one had to patiently wait for 8 years after registering with the CSD for a scooter, one finally got one!

It was a moment of rejoicing as if a child had been born in the family.

Those were the days where being poor was a matter not shameful! We were taught to be frugal.

It was natural to stand in queues for hours, even for a 10P postage stamp and going for a movie was something of a way out entertainment.

And one had arrived if one had a transistor radio!

Then came Doordarshan with it grainy black and white pictures and we thought India had hit modernity!

Those were the days my friend.

Let us think of those days and learn to jealously guard our new found freedom (to some extent) from babudom and abject poverty.

Let us also pledge to help our countrymen to rise to levels we have reached today!

Here is more proof how India has changed for the better.

And all credit to Narashimha Rao for being bold to start the process of ushering in the change.

    A magnificent change indeed!

The media didn't picked it up- strange.
This was a tectonic moment in Indian history - I would rank it as the second best thing to happen to India after independence in the 20th century.

And the story of Dalit millionaires is indeed an inspiring story - a reflection of a rising India.
