I agree till certain extent but the point is that when no one supported they did.....

milking money or no money they did help....

Remember they vetoed for us on many occasions.

We were ready to pay to any country but none was interested but Russia always came out in our support...

Agni 5, India's Longest Range Ballistic Missile, Successfully Test-Fired

India has Agni series missiles which can hit the targets 1000's of kilometers away with precision. Latest missile test of Agni 5 which can hit targets 5000 KM away is tested today.

India is also developing missiles with MIRVs and also have Tupolov 22 bombers at its disposal.

SU 30 MKI can hit the targets 1000s of kilometers away with the help of air to air refuelling.

INS Vikramaditya , aircraft carrier also helps India to strike long range targets.

Nuke submarine INS Arihant with operational K4 missile which can hit 3000 kms is also being developed and tested

If there is any country that can provide counter weight to Chinese aggression against India, it is Russia.

The same goes for Russia also, India and Russia are ideally situated sandwiching China to deal with any threat originating from China. So Russia and India value their friendship.

Sir if you analyze Russian economy they are very much dependent on China. 6.8% of total exports was done to China with petroleum products being the main export item and electronics and consumer goods being most import item.
I doubt Russia will screw with such an important trading pater for our sake.

Sir Soviet Union helped us back in 1971 and not Russia. International politics is abut what the other party can do for us in future and not about what they did for us in past.

Whats the difference? the decisions were taken by Russia and NOT its satellite states .

Russia is not as mighty as Soviet Union. Russia treats us like business clients and milks us every time they see fit. Thats not what allies do!!!

Russia sold us weapons to defend ourselves, when No other nation was willing! we were ready to pay , but no one was ready to sell. There wouldnt be an India if Russia hadnt helped us back then.

Also I would like to ask you have you ever been to Russia ? If you would have, u'd know that the Indo-Russian connection is/was far deeper then just Money!. Back in the Soviet days, there use to be long lines for ice-creams, believe me just the mention of your nationality use to get you right in the front of the que bypassing everyone else waiting in line

A part of what Russia is facing today was thanks to us!. The US. hates Russia because Russia stood up for the weaker nations like India, and provided resistance to US. hegemony. Had Russia not stood up for us during Bangladesh War, it wouldn't have antagonized the US that much more, and India would have been the Greater Islamic republic of Pakistan

It is about balancing the relationship and safe guarding the strategic relationship. Chinese trade is because of their export potential. Just like Japan of the past China too is loosing its edge in this regard.

India also needs petrol and gas in huge quantities so Russia has its options.

Indians feel proud when a missile is tested successfully , I think they remove the name on operational ones

Every missile has its own signature and they will be identified by the radar networks based on the launch site and other parameters.

first they thought to write down whole address on missile so the enemy can read it while it will strike down with mach 7 speed but then they thought just put the name its much cool.

Ostrobothnia is a region in west of Finland, they have a saying "We woke up to the laughter of the Cossacks". It originates from 19th century when Finland was a Grand duchy of Russian Empire and Cossacks were stationed in the area.

Today this saying means, that if you do not keep your defense up to date, you might once again wake up to the laughter of a Cossack.

Finland bought from US JASSM missiles with range of over 600km. Our Hornets have a capability to strike as far as Moscow. Of course we have friendly relations with our eastern neighbour and I cannot think of a situation where Finland could bomb Russia.

Still, maybe people in Moscow think that it is good to have friendly relations also in the future. Otherwise people in Moscow might "wake up to the laughter of the Ostrobothnians" if they live nearby a military command center...
