Delhi has over 14 lakh fake voters, confirms CEO Nearly 14.78 lakh dubious voters — an alarming 11 per cent of the total electorate — have been voting in elections in Delhi. This is found after a door-to-door survey by the Chief Electoral Office of Delhi. Incidentally, most of the localities where fake voters have been found are Congress strongholds. It is learnt that voters who are actually dead or those with fake addresses exercised their franchise without any hurdles. The Delhi BJP has been levelling this allegation for a long time. It had earlier raised the issue of a large number of fake voters listed in the electoral rolls in 2008 and 2009. At present, Delhi has 1,22,60,341 electorate. After a special summary revision last year, 4.23 lakh voters were added in the electoral list. These 11 per cent dubious voters are not the part of 1.22 crore voters. The Congress had won the Assembly elections in 2008. while the BJP won municipal elections. Such a large number of fake voters have been playing a major role in deciding the fate of the both Congress and the BJP in Assembly and municipal elections. The survey report may trigger blame game among the Congress and the BJP. The door-to-door survey reveals that around 11 per cent of the total electorate do not exist. Around 14.78 lakh entries in the electoral rolls have been identified as shifted/expired and replicated category. Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev told The Pioneer that during the scrutiny it was revealed that 6,60,407 voters have either shifted or do not exist at their given addresses while 78,217 were found dead and 30,158 replicated. “This has been revealed through a door-to-door survey by booth-level officers. The entries of 14.78 lakh disputed voters are being matched with census register to make more accurate electoral rolls in Delhi. The scrutiny of rest of 6,01,131 voters is under process,†he said. It was reported that hundreds of people were found carrying three to five voter ID cards to get low-cost housing under Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojna. The document available with The Pioneer reveals that Karawal Nagar (59,456), Matiala (46,566), Uttam Nagar (41,064), New Delhi (35,371), RK Puram (35,383), Okhla (32,386), Greater Kailash (31,014), Mustafabad (31,289), Kasturba Nagar (30,158), Najafgarh (31,995), Delhi Cantt (29,597), Bawana (27,682), Dwarka (27,902), Adarsh Nagar (26,110), Babarpur (25,020), Kirari (22,548), Rohini (23,840), Mangolpuri (22,355), Mundka (22,935), Kalkaji (22,004), Seelampur (20,193) and Model Town (20,712) were among the top in the list of fake voters. The scrutiny of 8.77 lakh disputed voters tells that 3,989 voters in Mundka Assembly seat are not alive. Similarly 3,795 in Sadar Bazar; 3,147 in Seema Puri; 2,800 Seelampur; 2,256 in Mangolpuri; 2,725 in Shakurbasti; 3,182 in Rajouri Garden; 2,853 in Babarpur and 2,898 in Patel Nagar are non-existent.
