It would make sense to have nukes capable of wandering around in the seas in submarines and in the countryside in TELs.
If India seriously goes for TEL, they need a MAZ/MZKT type rigid body TEL, not a tractor-trailer based TEL.

considering the $$ india is paying to buy arms from other countries. Building & maintaining force of BMs & warheads indigenously will be easily affordable by us.
Chinese are the only p5 without proven nuke SLBMS capability.
i didn't get u, they have haven't tested their SLBMs from their boomers?
Ajay, A5 first stage burns for 90 sec and A3 first stage for 45 sec.................. so it is completely different missile.
There is no conformation china can fire a SLBMS nuclear or conventional successfully from a sub
They have almost killed themselves trying for the last 30 years USA did this 60 years ago.
Exactly what i was talking about, most of us do no realize the amount of damage a few tank transporters going over a regular highway does to the road, with the standards of construction in our hinterlands being let's just say less than adequate a few normal heavy load trucks end up grinding it into muck. for true mobility an all wheel drive all terrain platform is a must.
Also the risks involved as far as loss of secrecy are far more for missiles being transported on regular roads than say in the terai of uttaranchal.
but its a publicly stated that they squeezed third stage into A3 design.
dont read what ever DRDO says it public-ally, Agni was tech demo but we have it in service............... our nukes were peaceful test..........
check the test video of A3 and A5 you will get the things............. just like its real range is not 5K, even A4 can reach 5K and day.
Actually the Chinese have launched SLBM's numerous times from an old soviet GOLF SSB, the one time a domestic nuclear submarine may have been used for an SLBM launch was in 2005.

China: SLBM Test Launch Failed (fell back to sub and almost sank it)
Chinese SLBM test failed almost sinks sub
Chinese do not have an operational SLBM ? India if they pursued it
Could have an operational one before Chinese but it needs an aggressive
Government.
that was in 2010 as these news reports indicate China is believed to have tested upto six JL-2's in simultaneous launches from Jin class SSBN's in late 2011.
