yeah 120 degree angle of the single launch tube for K15 is clearly visible.
Its a ballistic property & Its a good replacement for Agni-1..
Is their any possibilities that it can take place of Brahmos with modifications..
IN require a Anti-ship missile to hit targets 700km to 1000km..
The CEP is very good, if one missile is not able to do it a salvo should be more than enough. It has longer range than Brahmos another plus. Or if you want to be a 100% a salvo of Nirbhay followed by a salvo of Shaurya if necessary.
I may sound immature, But what is CEP ?
Nirbhay is not ready, But Shaurya have done its trials, Does Shaurya have a active seeker like Brahmos ?
Future IN ship might have to carry different Anti-ship missiles..
CEP is the accuracy of the missile at a distance the CEP for shaurya is 20-30 meters . Klub missiles are on Talwar and Shivalik and we also have Moskit on different surface ships. Also Barak being developed with Israel will be on many ships for defense.
@Sir,
Here is why i am concern..
type052C class ( Luyang II class) missile destroyer:
The purpose of multiple Anti-ship missle is to have 100% kill probability, Today new types of ECM are surfacing on ships deigned to disable Seekers like on Klub and KH-35 making it useless, Hence using two different missiles together of different bands is new, Given the range is same or more..
I dont have much Idea abt PLAN ecm protection but Having two different Supersonic / Hypersonic does give us an edge over PLAN..
They will be fast and harder to jam in given time..
Also add possibly using UAV's in a naval role in the future to this along with air launched brahmos and Nirbhay.

Yes that will be possible, But my view is based on Fleet vs Fleet engagement or sole ships vs Fleet engagement over IOR and South of Andaman, PLAN spear will be from South China sea and Andaman will become front-line for IN and PLAN..
In that situation IN must have Shurya missiles and Brahmos to attack Sea based targets from all dimentions..
It is known SU-30MKI can attack with air-launched Brahmos, But IN ships lack the range compare to PLAN ships, That is difficult, In War time Andaman will be used as Natural aircraft carrier also base for SLCM nest ..

Against that you need a devastating initial strike since Chinese supply and logistic capability at this distance is nothing.
Presiosly sir, Left or right at end PLAN will bring its fleet with Aircraft carrier, to secure its trade routes or to retaliate and secure Its trade route also Andaman..
That would be irresponsible use of a carrier by China, firstly it would have to pass many other neighbors who do not have good relations with China and would also view it as a hostile act and it would have to travel a long distance to an incident which might end in embarrassment?? China is not USA no matter what they think and doing something like this is more or less an act of war and a revelation of their hostile intentions.
Its just a very possible senerio that might happen between surface warships not to mention involvement of PLAN subs in that Area..
Their are many ways PLAN use its fleet, Their is one senerio were the fleet is use as a Bait for IN ships to get in a Ambush zone lay by PLAN subs..
These trade routes are life line for China and PLAN responsibility to secure it, In war IN will cut this route, Its invertible that PLAN will show up with air-support..
In that case IN must be ready..
Shaurya Missile Test this week - southindia - Orissa - ibnlive
BALASORE: The defence scientists are preparing for a development trial of India’s new age nuke-capable medium range missile Shaurya from a test range off the Orissa coast on September 24.
The missile was first tested on November 12, 2008 has been scheduled to be test-fired from a silo built underground at the Launching Complex-III (LC-III) of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea. The missile would this time be launched from a 35-foot silo, defence sources said.
Shaurya is a land variant of Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile K-15. DRDO scientists said the missile is so agile that radars across the borders will have less than 400 seconds to detect, track and intercept before it hits the target. Having a strike range of 750 km, Shaurya is equipped with the state-of-the-art technology. The high manoeuvrability of the missile makes it less vulnerable to the available anti-missile defence systems in the world.
“The medium range two-stage missile can carry conventional warheads with a payload up to a tonne. With 10 metre in length and about half-a-metre in width the sleek missile uses solid propellant which gives it a longer service-life and shorter launch time compared to the missiles that use liquid propellant,” the official added.
Meanwhile, the DRDO has decided to shift people residing within 2 km radius of the ITR prior to the test as the missile will be fired vertically. A meeting convened on Monday was attended by Collector AB Ota, Sub-Collector Ramesh Rout and officials of the ITR.
400 seconds means about 6.5 minutes. in case of war isnt it too much time??
