India to sell BrahMos missile to Vietnam
Sep 20, 2011
The BrahMos Aerospace —the Indo-Russian joint venture that has developed the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile — is keen to sell the missile to Vietnam with which India is developing a strong strategic relationship, sources have confirmed
However, the Indian government’s approval will have to be taken for any such acquisition.
Sources also confirmed that Vietnam is already on a list of about 15 “friendly countries” — that was decided by a joint Indo-Russian supervisory council — to whom the BrahMos missile can be sold.
“Informal talks are on but no concrete proposal has been made as yet,” a source who did not want to be identified, told this newspaper. “Any acquisition of the BrahMos missile will be of immense value to Vietnam and will boost its defence preparedness,” sources said.
So far, the BrahMos missile has not been sold to any third country although a few have already evinced interest in acquiring it.
In a move that signalled the importance of strategic ties between India and Vietnam in the wake of increased Chinese military assertion in Asia, defence secretary Shashi Kant Sharma had also recently begun an official visit to Vietnam. India is set to offer naval facilities for training and capacitybuilding to Vietnam.

Now that is some good news. I hope this is not just verbal diarrhea or sensationalist journalism.
Great news. Brahmos + yakhont will be good combo for Vietnamese arsenal.
And for those PRC boats as well! Masterstroke!
I would be eager to see how much courage Vietanamese has to use such weapon against China. Besides, since India is selling such weapon to Vietnam, China would be happy to sell Pakistan, Bangladesh and other south Asian countries more weapons reciprocally.
Courage has been never been short for the Vietnamese, only weapons were missing.
But the countries you mentioned weapons were already there but are short of courage.
You are already doing it to Pakistan. It is our turn. Bangladesh? LOL. Do you think they will use these against India? We have a very good intelligence network in the country. Also, you have more neighbours than we do, and that too, angry neighbours bullied by you.
They don't need courage, because the next war with India will be Nuclear war. I hope not.

Wow, your knowledge about warfare is too good. Yes of course they don't need courage because to have courage you must be morally right at your point and pakistan has always wrong with India and attacked on us.
Now do you think that if they don't have courage to fight with us then will they have enough courage to nuke us and get completely destroyed despite they that now we have active missile shield? Even china also can not think about nuclear war with India because of ability to respond in same manner and active anti-ballistic missile capability.
And in that war your beloved Pakistan will be wipe out..... that for sure......
Well that feeling and destruction will be mutual.
I think you have forgotten 1979 thrashing by ragtag Vietnam army, where you lost thousands of PLA soldiers to ill-equipped Vietnam army and their irregulars and you were made to run back into China and till date could not make Vietnam another Tibet, and you talk about 'Courage'.....hence stop dreaming about courage (and I am not talking about courage of Surrendering shameless pakistanis).....as per failed state pakistan, they have already begged for Dollars from China and China has said no Dollars for you my whore only Junk Fighters and made in china cheap products-- Hence US has again turned out to be the real master that failed state -- As per your Nuclear assertion, what makes you think after rendering terrorist failed state of pakistan into a nuclear wasteland we will not flatten east cost of China? Are you dumb? or Simply a chicom - high of CCP supplied Opium?
