Assam debate in Parliament - LK Advani speech
Agree totally with Advani. Assam debate in Parliament : what Advani said
New Delhi: BJP leader LK Advani moved an adjournment motion on Assam in the Lok Sabha today enforcing an urgent debate on the riots that have engulfed the state.
Here are the highlights of the discussion that followed:
•LK Advani:
•I seek the leave of the House for moving the adjournment motion regarding failure of government to assess the situation arising out of illegal immigration in Assam
•I welcome new Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde
•Am pleased that PM is here for the discussion on Assam
•There has been violence in Assam and many people died due to the violence
•We agreed to the government's view - the wording of the motion was changed from "Hundreds have died" to "Many have died" •A disturbance of this scale where four lakh people have been displaced is unprecedented •
This question should not be looked at from a communal viewpoint •I have said in Kokrajhar - Let not anyone regard it as a Hindu vs Muslim issue •The crux of the problem is who is an Indian and who is a foreigner? That recognition will provide the basis to the debate • Assamese people are now refugees in their own state • Infiltration from Bangladesh is affecting the security of the whole country •
People in Assam feel that if this would have happened in any other part of the country, more stringent measures would have been taken.
•We (the NDA) had also given in to Bodo demands - in those areas - formed territorial councils
•The PM went there and said what has happened in Assam is shameful. He was there on the 28th
•Mr Advani quotes from an article - Former election commissioner HS Brahma said Assam was a huge tinderbox. Tarun Gogoi said this morning that Assam is sitting on a volcano
•Mr Advani recalls the students' agitation in Assam, says it was peaceful and resulted in Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) government in 1985 headed by Prafulla Kumar Mohanta
•If an Indian is displaced, then the government is answerable. On the other hand, if a foreigner is killed on Indian soil, perpetrators cannot be pardoned.
•I believe the situation emanating from illegal immigration from Bangladesh is a serious issue, and the central government is more responsible than state government
•The Supreme Court pulled up the central government on the Illegal Migrants Determination by Tribunal or IMDT Act, said Foreigners Act should be implemented. The government then decided that the 1964 order will not be implemented in Assam.
•The Supreme Court had to intervene within one year in 2006 - said the government wanted to undo their order
•In 2006, Supreme Court said the authorities have chosen to make the order inapplicable and that there was a lack of will to send out illegal immigrants. It ordered the government to implement within a period of four months from this date ( Dec 5, 2006)
•I cannot think of a greater failure if the central government than this. Not following the Supreme Court order has resulted in a grave security threat for this country.
•Assam is critical to India's security. To neglect it is a great folly
•Go to the people and ask what they think of the government. I believe UPA-2 is illegitimate
Tweets by Dr John Dayal who normally spews venom at Hindus and Hinduism.
Dr John Dayal : The language of a lout, a street urchin...
[Directed at Advani, after Assam speech]
Dr John Dayal : I support BJP - Congress move for mobile phones to the poor. Useful in accidents, communal violence . Now need for solar power chargers.
[About the central govts plan to distribute cell phones to poor, note how he adds BJP in his tweet]

She looks like a evil witch who doesn't give 2 $hits about India.

CPI-M MP Basudev Acharya calls Bangladeshi immigrants “citizens” of India. Blames BJP for calling Indian citizens foreigners. https://twitter.com/firstpostin/stat...34922368425985
What a shame. Leftist are nothing but migrating Bangladeshi sympathiser. Leftist leaders should be the first to be deported to Bangladesh. They are traitors and should be booked for treason.
Sharad Yadav replied "Communist are communist and never Nationalist"

Though I dont think Communist fossilized ideals have anything to do with it. It's primarily to cover their base in West Bengal which probably has seen much worse illegal Bangladesh migration than even Assam.

He was only speaking on Bangaldeshi infiltrators in Assam. Very specifically. He clearly said Bangladeshi immigrants are citizens of India. He even blames Indians for the violence initiated by Bangladeshi Muslims. Just see his entire speech. It's humiliating and shameful. I have no hope left until such bastards are part of our society.

They say such words for political power....but the fact that there are common people, educated ones at that who still support those anti-national commie scums. That is the real sad part.

@OP - I support the BJP in this issue. A method needs to be devised to identify the illegals (Hindus as well as Muslims) and deport them back. If Bangladesh tries any foul play, grab them by the collar and warn them of possible military action. Enough of illegals using our resources.
