Yep, it is not disputed anymore. Though the Muslim community represented by the Waqf and AIMPLB and supported by the aforementioned fossils in the JNU did try hard to dispute this incontrovertible fact, probably since it was never taught in the old history text books .

Nobody is asking people to not speak the truth but why give gory, explicit details ? Give cursory details. I believe someone mentioned that temple destruction is already mentioned in the NCERT books. History is not religious studies.

And I think NCERT authors so far have done a good job of being true to their intellectual roots, at the same time avoided anything which can be considered controversial, or hateful.

I cannot say they are not biased, because they being not biased will also be interpreted as a bias.

are you Ok? I said I wanted a neutral history, that is not far right view. I dont like far right groups myself. Read the word neutral, not something propagated by Hindu fanboys

Oh dont tell me that you dint read the History books which say Akbar was the greatest king of India and his rule was very benevolent for Hindus and that the Mughal empire was a great stretching empire. The history I read did not even mention that there was Maratha empire stronger than the Mughal empire.

Seriously man, if only you just read what you people post, it will be obvious. So far people who have advocated for
    1. neutral history based on fact are all right wingers.
    2. The Party which asks for the UCC is a right wing party.
    3. A party which asks fro pure secularism is also a Right wing party.

Now thats what I was talking about.

Seriously, the left -liberals have proposed so far in India-
    1. History should be moderate(.ie falsified)
    2. Minorites must be protected and uplifted and should be provided reservation(in the name of seuclarism)
    3. A party which openly supports the religious parties and has alliance with them- again the left party.

Now tell me of these two, who is centrist and who is bigoted. To my eyes the left looks bigoted and the Right wing looks centrist

Do you even know what is actual right wing and left wing? Far Right wing will call for superiority (or unfair treatment) of one race over the other. Now tell me which party in this country treats the "particular" community superiorly or unfairly? Dont tell me you dont know who it is

After shooting yourself in the foot, now you are making this statement,

Here, this is what you wrote.. I said in India, read again- In India, the right wingers are actually more of centrist than the right and the left wingers are the most bigotted.

For all practical purposes, if we purely follow the western defn of left and right, the Indian Right wing will actually be more at the center than at the right and the left wing will be the bigotten one.- This is my statement

One can be a Social Conservative or liberal conservative etc and there are so many such terms which we dont want to go and you are making a good job of diverting the focus to economic grounds

Let me tell, you for instance, I am a Centrist-Secular in American sense(No way Indian sense) regarding politics/religion and a center right in economics

But that aside, saffranosaur is an adsurb accusation you lot throw away without any proof

Because they cant handle any more of the shit in the name of Secularism in Indian Context.

Dint I say that If far right party comes to power in India- it will be because of pseudo -intellectuals and suckularists and not because of the BJP?

Another non-sense excuse which is usually given by typical bigotten left leaning minds.

In the suckular version of the left-right, even people who oppose religious bigotry in the name of secularism is seen as right winger. Typical examples here are many and You know who they are

For instance you called Karthic far right winger in Chitchat thread remember? Actually he is not. He will fall under the center right leaning in American scale. This is how we view things now Thats because of the prejudice and bigotry of the Indian left leaners

Oh btw, since you said you are a center right in the previous post, wont you come under muslim hater, by this version of your political spectrum?

This is the faith vs science issue I was talking about.

How many riots has germany and How many riots does India see ? You are talking about two different societies. Germans are still apologetic about holocaust, some Indians are happy to teach the other community a lesson. I believe some members are already preparing for another Hindu-Muslim "war".

I agree here. OTOH but one must understand India is a very multi-religious, multi-cultural society. NCERT cannot write from the perspective of a Hindi speaking devout Hindu only. So what you might find to be their bias or omission, others might not.

    Phew. Atlast

So you agree that left leaners falsify history most. So what are the other parts of the RWE we have to discuss?

    Agreed!

By temple destruction I meant all the temples like Kashi , Mathura etc. not alone Somnath temple. And if SC holds that Ayodhya temple was destructed by Babur then it should also be added to the syllabus.

Agreed ! but I can't deny that history is strongly attached to the religion, and those temples were not destroyed for administrative purposes but religious-political purposes. And it should be taught that people used to attack the religious structure first in order to rule them.

Sorry I do not agree here!

Edit: I misread it, yeah they are Biased!

But no matter how much crocodile tears are shed for the reservation against the poor Brahmins, the reservation will remain until the social status(not economic status) of the lower castes equals that of the Poor unfortunate, mistreated FCs

That ought to depend on historians, academicians and historians on what they deem fit. And in anycase thanks to our legendary redtape, it will be years before things are updated.

For a proper background, kids then need to be taught about political science and other things. And better justice can be done, when they have a more solid intellectual foundation, no ?

From my understanding the target audience is pan-India.

Indian kids are not taught about north eastern history, not enough about southern history, not much about sikhs or kashmir, and certainly not taught the classics like mahabharata and ramayana.

So everyone has a grouse, they can't please all. If you want your kids to learn certain historical periods or slants, you gotta teach them yourself.

How is it a faith vs science issue? It would be a faith vs science issue if faith supported one side and science supported the other, would it not? Here both faith AND science, and now even the law, support one claim overwhelmingly.

This is just the kind of thinking that has got us where we are. Let me backtrack to the Ayodhya issue here, slightly out of context but allow me to make my point. If the Muslim community had shown the leap of faith and retracted their claims on the 3 areas, would you believe that Hindu organizations would have retracted claims on the remaining 3000+ temples? I believe that every organization claiming to represent Hindus would have signed on it with their blood and every organization that did not do so would have been sidelined forever. It would have been an epochal event in our history.

My claim is that since the truth is not taught in our textbooks and RWEs (!) like me find out about it later, it results in more extreme reactions than would have been the case if the truth were taught and a framework was laid out that would have made the uncomfortable truth palatable because with above, you could also have modified the textbooks to say that the Muslims graciously let go of their mosques in 3 of the most important places in Hindu history.

That would have been the ideal solution. Right now, it is just trying to patch the holes in the pitcher, there are just too many holes.

The above requires a leap of faith and a belief in the common goodness of man. But we are all happy being RW/LW/CRW/CLW/C barbarians.

Certainly NCERT must not write about the the perspective of a Hindi speaking devout Hindu only, so please do mention that some (in relation to the 3000+ Hindu temples) Buddhist temples were also destroyed and any other issues of Hindu barbarism you can find .
