I was inspired to create this thread from some posts I saw on BR. Pakis are so bereft of good news that they manufacture good news on the fly, no matter how outrageous and crazy that "good news" is. Examples abound, and I thought of creating this thread to keep track of such Paki denials, so that we can keep adding stuff to one place as and when denials occur. This thread will serve as a good reminder to us not to trust anything that Pakis say - they lie so much, often they don't even realize that they are deluding themselves.

The following posts showcase some recent "denials". Please feel free to add to this list.

Sunil Gavaskar denies reports of his involvement with PPL
Sunil Gavaskar denies reports of his involvement with PPL - Times Of India

A report by the Associated Press of Pakistan on Wednesday said that Gavaskar pledged his support to Ashraf in organising the proposed PPL and has accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board's invitation to visit the country.

Gavaskar said in a statement that he met Ashraf along with former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram at the lobby of the hotel in Colombo and during a brief conversation he was invited to watch the T20 tournament when it is held and there was nothing transpired more than that.

"I happened to meet Mr Zaka Ashraf and Wasim Akram in the lobby of the hotel where I had gone for lunch with a friend. That's when they mentioned that they were planning a Pakistani Premier League. I wished them all the best for it and they invited me to watch it. That is the beginning and the end of the brief conversation in the lobby of the hotel," Gavaskar said in the statement.

This one is epic - pay attention to the bolded portions.

LinkedIn denies plans to enter Pakistan

LinkedIn denies plans to enter Pakistan – The Express Tribune

KARACHI: International professional social networking website – LinkedIn – denied on Wednesday that it was planning open a local office in Pakistan.

LinkedIn refuted the claims of a story filed by the state-owned wire service Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), which quoted the Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla saying that Linkedin was planning to establish its offices in Pakistan and invest $10 million by the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013.

"While we are exploring some commercial opportunities in Pakistan, we currently have no plans to open a local office," LinkedIn spokesperson Darain Faraz told The Express Tribune.

While the firm that handles global public relations activities for the professional networking website, Edelman also denied the head of the BOI's claims, saying that Linkedin's plans are stated inaccurately in the APP story.

However, Mandviwalla reaffirmed his earlier statement about the arrival of LinkedIn in Pakistan. "I strongly disagree with the view that LinkedIn is not going to establish its offices in Pakistan," Mandviwalla said while speaking to The Express Tribune.

"Maybe the LinkedIn management did not want to make the news public as yet. But it does not mean it is not coming to Pakistan," he added.

Mandviwalla also claimed that LinkedIn had issued an official statement announcing its plan to open its office in Pakistan. However, the section titled 'Press releases' on the LinkedIn website showed no such statement.

In a subsequent SMS, Mandviwalla informed The Express Tribune that the said LinkedIn statement was issued directly to newspapers, and not through the BOI. However, he later said it was possible that LinkedIn might not have issued the statement at all.

Re: Paki denial thread

While this is not exactly a "denial", it deserves a place here due to the immense yapping that internet Pakis were indulging in w.r.t. this visit.

Putin cancels Pakistan visit

Cancellation of Putin's visit to Pakistan | The Nation

President Vladimir Putin's last minute cancellation of his, or for that matter any Russian Head of State's first-ever, visit to Pakistan, has not only left a bad taste in the mouth, but also raised doubts about Pak-Russo relations. It also postponed the Quadrilateral Summit, involving Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, planned for October 2-3, 2012. The instrument of cancellation was a letter from Mr Putin to his Pakistani counterpart, without assigning any reasons. The Russian chancellery, at Islamabad, too failed to provide any cogent reason for the unceremonious termination of the visit.

Japan denies it made $4 bn offer for Bhasha dam

Japan denies it made $4 bn offer for Bhasha dam - thenews.com.pk

ISLAMABAD: It has now been confirmed that the Senate Committee on Water and Power was misinformed by the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) when it was told that Japan had agreed to provide $4 billion for the Bhasha dam as Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has denied it officially.

The impression that Japan has taken the lead by agreeing to provide funds of $4 billion for machinery and equipments including turbines for the much touted Diamer-Bhahsa dam was given by EAD officials but a JICA spokesman told The News that Tokyo had not given such a nod to Pakistan. The controversy over Japan funding the Bhasha dam emerged when a senior EAD official informed the Senate Committee meeting that Japan had come forward and agreed to help install the electro-mechanical system of the dam which includes the 12 power turbines, each with a capacity of 375MW and to this effect it would provide $4 billion credit line.

Bangladesh Cricket Board denies agreeing to tour Pakistan
BCB chief denies committing to Pak tour in return for PCB support for ICC candidacy - Yahoo! Cricket India

Karachi, Apr 21(ANI): Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Mustafa Kamal has denied that he had committed to the country's tour of Pakistan in return for the Pakistan Cricket Board's support of his candidature for vice-presidency in the International Cricket Council (ICC).

"No that is absolutely incorrect. I can't get the vice-presidency with Pakistan's support only. I need endorsements from at least 7 of 10 full members of the ICC to acquire the important office," Kamal was quoted as saying.

His statement came after a Bangladesh High Court issued a stay order on the country's tour to Pakistan that led to the postponement of the tour due to security reasons, The Dawn reports.

Salman Khan and Katrina attending Pakistani awards function - DENIED, YET AGAIN :))
Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan at LSA?: Not in this security situation – The Express Tribune

KARACHI: Rumours that Bollywood celebs Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan are going to be performing at the Lux Style Awards (LSA) due to be held in Karachi on Tuesday evening were quashed by an official spokesperson for the brand.

"I categorically deny these rumours," Fareshtay Aslam, the head of the corporate affairs Unilever and the organiser of LSA, told The Express Tribune. She added with bewilderment, "have you seen the security situation in the country. Is anyone going to perform here?"

There had been rumours that the Bollywood mega stars would be performing dance numbers at the awards, in a sign of that the premier Pakistani entertainment awards show had managed to capture a part of their giant neighbour's attention.

Here is something very funny about Paki reactions w.r.t. "NATO apology"

Influential US senator would likely offer a formal public apology on behalf of the Obama Administration over the Nato airstrikes on a Pakistani check post in November last year.

Senator Kerry not planning visit to Pakistan: Spokesperson – The Express Tribune
As opposed to previous reports of US senator John Kerry's visit to Pakistan on US President Obama's directive, the senator's spokesperson Jodi Seth has claimed that no such visit has been scheduled, nor has the US president issued any such request.

Pakis frequently claim that South Koreans "owe their development to Pakistan", and that they "emulated" Pakistan.

Learning from Korea - Javed Masud

If Mr Mahmood had chosen to enquire from Kim as to what they had actually learned from Pakistan and what, if any, part of that knowledge had been translated into the Korean economic planning process and strategy, he would have faced embarrassing silence. It is, of course, a fact that a Korean delegation did visit Pakistan in the 1960s. The visit was proposed by the Harvard Advisory Group who were advisors to the Korean government at that time and had advised the Pakistan government earlier in establishing Pakistan's Planning Commission. It is, however, a complete myth that Koreans learnt much from this visit.

They claimed that the French would transfer nuke tech to them. Hold your breath - DENIED again :pound:

BBC NEWS | Europe | Pakistan in 'French nuclear deal'

France is in fact not in a position to begin unilaterally transferring nuclear technology to Pakistan, says correspondent Hugh Schofield in Paris.

That is because Pakistan is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is therefore the object of a boycott from other nuclear powers.

India was in a similar situation, but last year negotiated its way back into the nuclear fold.

Pakistan would like to follow suit, Hugh Schofield adds, but concerns over the stability of the government there means that any suggestion of countries like France transferring new nuclear technology are bound to be highly controversial.

Re: Pakistan denial thread

They claimed that they would export "Murree beer".

Banned at home, Pakistan brewery seizes Hollywood moment | Business | DAWN.COM

The Pakistani brewery said it has reached an agreement with the Czech Republic's Zatec Brewery initially to produce at least 5,000 cases, each containing 24 bottles of Murree Beer, annually from next year. That amount will double in 2015, Rehman said.

However, the managing director of Zatec Brewery, Martin Kec, said he knew nothing of this arrangement and his firm had only produced a very small amount of Murree Beer in the past.

Murree Brewery also said it has lined up distributors in Texas, Dubai and Denmark to market and sell its lager under franchise agreements, and is looking for partners in Britain and other European countries. "We are virgins and we are looking for husbands," said Bhandara.

But company officials are hopeful, particularly for the US market. "Americans will drink anything. They are like fish," Rehman said.

Here is something awesome: denial of denial   :taunt:

Bahria keeps quiet on UAE group's clarification | Newspaper | DAWN.COM

A large advertisement published in national dailies on behalf of ADG said the management of BT floated a misleading news item on Feb 15 claiming that BT and ADG had signed an agreement under which the group will invest $45bn in the housing sector and build the world's tallest building in Karachi.

A number of attempts were made to contact owners and officials of BT, but they did not come out with their group's reply to the ADG disclaimer.

However, Col (retd) Tanveer Ahmed, personal secretary to the owner of BT, Malik Riaz, did talk on the matter and challenged authenticity of the advertisement. He claimed that the advertisement was got published by some people who were against BT, and not by the management of ADG.

"There was no telephone number or e-mail address in the advertisement. This shows that it was fake," he said.

He, however, had no reply to a query that if the advertisement was fake, why the BT administration had not come on the media with its version.
