On the contrary... something equally worse may happen. America might give up on its War on Terror and get out of Afghanistan, since its "main" intention is accomplished. So no more reliance on Pakistan... no more aid/gifts/blood money. And as they wash their hands off, the Talibanis will probably get stronger... and then no doubt create havoc in Afghanistan and Pakistan thereafter. We need to think about what happens after the Talibanis are firmly established in Af-Pak. India and even the world will not be a safe place surely.

Ofcourse, all this is assuming that US will leave Afghanistan and Taliban becomes a far more powerful in this region.
Nah USA is not leaving Afghanistan anytime soon. Its very important strategic location for USA to leave so quickly. USA can control various pipelines and keep a check on almost all its enemies from Afghanistan. Regarding USA attitude towards pakistan we need to wait and watch.

He was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan. He had to say something about Pakistani help or else we would have heard all usual moans about sovreignity, honour and dignity (rather the lack of) from the TFTA Purelanders.

Even if they didnt he woudnt say that Pakistanis didnt co-operate. It will be a bad publicity for their best ally in Asia.

He said US fire team killed OBL. No mention of Pakistan except with the help in intelligence, but they got the lead from CIA in the first place. I get the feeling Pakistan help just means letting US operate there.

It is a big embarrassment after all their BS saying OBL wasn't there and he been there the whole time right under their noses. Leads many to think they knew and lying.

Three cheers to this news. I hope it's the beginning of the end of Al Qaeda and other terror organizations in the world and not the beginning of a new wave of terror.

Great news this though it has come 10 years too late thanks to Pakistan. I would add my conspiracy theory on this one. US-Pak breakdown in ties leads to OBL getting killed. Says something that. So I hope it's the beginning of the end of freebies Pak has been getting in the last 10 years.

I am sure there will be mourning in Pak security circles today as the name that helped them get back on the world stage (albeit for the wrong reasons) is gone. It helped them get money, weapons and also a free run to proliferate the world while it ran it's own state sponsored terror against India.

I hope it leads to a quick destruction of the terror network in Astan including the Haqqani group so that once US is done with those scums, it can along with the rest of the world can concentrate on the really bad scums in Rawalpindi.

This event also gives a huge boost to the sagging presidency of Obama and help him in his re-election bid.

It was an exclusive CIA operation No Pak army troops involved

The key words are " DEEP inside Pakistan , the city of Abottabad "

Now the last remaining FIG LEAVES of Pak Military that Pakistan is a partner on GWOT are over

This is GREAT news!! Pakistan was not informed of the operation until all the U.S. special forces left Pakistan with OBL body. The Pakistani government will have a lot of explaining to do as to why they harbored OBL.

Guys any idea Which airbase was used by CIA ; ie for launching the helicopters

It must be an airbase close to Abottabad

It was not a drone strike But a special forces operation

You people need to get tough with Pakistan now for harbouring OBL but instead you might reward them.
