The Railway Protection Force (approx 70,000 personnel- being downsized) tasked exclusively with protecting railway assets and property particularly in the North east and Kashmir.

The Central Reserve Police Force- 370,000 to 400,000 personnel (235 battalions): the world's largest paramilitary force, tasked with combating insurgencies, assisting police: particularly during elections and maintaining domestic law & order within the state/union territories of the Union Republic of India. They are the guys you see in Kashmir, often mistaken by the Pakistanis and Chines to be the Indian Army.

They don't just kill protestors, they also help 'em.

Just a clarification about this picture. This is neither North East nor Kashmir. This is either Sealdah or Howrah, most probably Sealdah.
