our greatest victory

the weird part is that till this day the Egyptians continue to believe they won
and any attempt to discredit this propaganda is punishable by a prison sentence
the terms of the treaty :
1) they were forced to recognize the Jewish state
2) the saini is completely demilitarized (less then 1000 troops are allowed)
3) we get 50% of the saini oil production free of charge
4) a permanent us peace keeper crew monitors the situation
if this is an Arab victory i wish them more victory's like this

to me the yom kippur war was a show of both tatical genius by the Combined Arab general staff in the fact that it caught the IDF unaware and almost killed the Jewish state but the counter tatics shown by Israle especially the crossing of the canal and the Ceasefire war are just examples of a nation that is ready to take the risk to further its aims

all in all though the IDF lost intially overall it can be classified as a stragic victory for israle as it forced Egypt the premeninet Arab power to recognize the jewish state as a living entity and we all know what happened after that sadatt lost his life to Tangos or ultra nationalist whatever you want to call them

the unsung heros of this war was the men and women of the USAF MAC who participated in operation nickle grass that established an airbridge to the IDF

sinai sector Ops maps

there are Contrasting parelles with the 1971 Operations in the Indian subcontinent and the 73 Isralie Naval Ops in the Meditarrain like the Use of Missle Boats to attack Syrian oil terminal in Banias

one of the most unsung yet important battles was the Battle of Latakia

was a small but revolutionary naval battle of the Yom Kippur War, fought on 7 October 1973, between Israel and Syria. It was the first naval battle in history to see combat between surface-to-surface missile-equipped missile boats and the use of electronic deception like the pakistani navy in 1971 after the operations Python and trident the Syrian Arab Navy remained port bound for the rest of the war
