Question, in combat situations how do snipers hit the target with one shot I mean without calibration shots. Asking this question after watching the above video.
Depends on the distance. anything beyond 700 yards, one shot one kill has an element of luck because the projectile is already deflecting one or two feet from line of sight and that has to be factored in.

This is only for mil dot reticle. PSO 1 on Dragunov uses different system, ACSS reticle system uses different system and so on. ACSS is the best for all ranges imo.

*all ranges under 800m.

Precision custom built rifle, match grade ammo, shooting rig for precision shooting blah blah blah..
but still, punching thru the same hole again and again at 100 yards.. Nice!!!

Lyudmila Pavlichenko: Russia’s Deadliest Female Sniper During WWII Was Born In Ukrainian

1647939114725.png

This Hero of the Soviet Union (her nation’s highest top award for valor in combat) stood only 5′ 1″ (155 cm), yet she towered above her peers with her performance on the battlefield. By the age of 25, Lyudmila Pavlichenko was already the most successful female sniper in history, with 309 confirmed kills. She had been wounded in battle four times, the last time when shrapnel from a mortar round struck her face. Bleeding profusely, she continued to fight until her superiors pulled her out of the field.

just last week I came across an Ukrainian biographical movie made on this lady by 20th century fox released in 2015, where Roosevelt’s wife is incorporated into the story line.
