Putin accuses power hungry US for world's instability
Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused the US of undermining global stability, and warned that the world will face new wars if Washington does not respect the interests of other nations.

During a speech in the Russian city of Sochi, the President argued that while Moscow does not see Washington as a threat US foreign policy has created chaos.

-Citing the wars in Iraq, Libya and Syria, he went on to accuse the US and its allies of "fighting against the results of its own policy".

"They are throwing their might to remove the risks they have created themselves, and they are paying an increasing price,"-

"The probability of a series of acute conflicts with indirect and even direct involvement of major powers has sharply increased,"-

Putin also argued that the interests of Russia and other nations need to be taken into account to stabilise the global situation.

The US enjoys similar advantages like the Colonial Britain enjoyed during 15th-18th centuries. WW1 and WW2 barely touched the American mainland. It created an illusion in the American minds that the US will remain isolated from conflicts (including those which had-been/will-be created by the US). If anybody knows anything about the way US government reacted during the Cuba Missile Crisis, he/she won't call Russia's reaction to NATO's expansion into Russia's traditional backyard irrational/illogical.

Of course 30+ western democracies are wrong and Russia is right. Solzhenitsyn was right, it takes 200 years for Russia to grow up. Study some advances in weapons techniques before comparing to Cuban crisis...dingdong, kellot soi..

First of all, your Putin bashing is unwarranted.
Second 30+ democracies can indeed be wrong.
There is no doubt that the West is superior in conventional weapons. However nukes are a serious equalizer. It is good that a nuclear war did not occur so far but a very unbalanced situation in Europe is an invitation to that. I advise to be cautious in dealing with Russia.

Our calculation is that Ukraine is the loser in Ukraine/Russia spat. The Western sanctions may be damaging Russia but there is no benefit for Ukraine either. A large part of Ukraine's economy was integrated with Russia. That part has simply stopped producing. The Kiev is asking the West the total sum of displaced GDP. The ethnic tension in Ukraine does not help economy's cause. A country that is failing economically is very unlikely to keep its power-base.

Russia is NOT failing despite sanctions and low oil price. Why? Because it had a large current account surplus. That surplus may have disappeared but Russia still has the money to pay for its imports. So while Russia is not adding reserves, its expenses are still being met. This simple fact is lost in Western propaganda.

There may be a fall in Russian GDP. However people forget that a majority of business in Russia is driven by Government spending. And government is a great tool to distribute - both wealth and misery. So whatever fall is happening in Russia, the pain is spread evenly which is protecting the economic base.

The USA is NOT INSULATED from outside world this time. The technology has made distances irrelevant.
When both China and Russia have aircraft launched cruise missiles of 2500km range, there is no question that USA has lost its traditional advantage.
USA is surviving on strong alliances. However if there is a setback to the alliances then USA will find itself naked.

The Europeans are forgetting that oil and gas from Russia can flow east. And if it does, this natural resource will add to GDP of China, propelling China's GDP to top of the world.

The Europeans may keep a straight face on this, but the fact is several European countries, specially land-locked ones, will see their economy failing.

So assuming that Russia has no leverage is a foolish assumption.

Here is the story

Putin: The US is to blame for almost all the world's major conflicts

"They are throwing their might to remove the risks they have created themselves, and they are paying an increasing price," Putin told political experts at the Black Sea resort....
The probability of a series of acute conflicts with indirect and even direct involvement of major powers has sharply increased," he said. "Ukraine is an example of such conflicts that influence a global balance of forces, and, I think, not the last one."
"While respecting interests of others, we simply want our interests to be taken into account too, and our position to be respected," he said.

No one is right.

All are pursuing their selfish national interest and creating chaos in the world and on foreign soil and shores.

Do educate us, the poor natives running naked in the bush, about some advances in weapons techniques before comparing to Cuban crisis that changes the cold war type of scenario that we face in growing intensity by the day.

Solzhenitsyn was idolised by the West because he was anti USSR. He is no soothsayer or is he? if so, how? He is a Shaman?

What democracies do you talk about?

The club that hosts the European interests and that of the US?

Don't misuse the word 'democracy' or 'democracies' when that democracy is but being used as a partisan conglomerate chumming up club.

It is all a modern West Side Story - rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.

Kiitos

Solzhenitsyn was right, that Ukraine and ByeloRussia are intergral parts of Russia.

He was right when he was the darling of the West as a Soviet dissident.

He is right even now that Putin, who apparently believes in his philosophy, is the target of lies and debauchery laden tirades against him.
