Pakistani-American Brothers Sentenced in NYC Terror Plot

Two Pakistani-American brothers were sentenced to long prison terms Thursday for a bomb plot to attack New York City in 2012. Raees Qazi, 22, and Sheheryar Qazi, 32, both naturalized U.S. citizens from Pakistan, were sentenced to 35 years and 20 years respectively by a court in the southern state of Florida. They pleaded guilty in Miami last March to terrorism charges after being accused of plotting to detonate a bomb in New York City. The brothers also pleaded guilty to assaulting two U.S. Marshals while being escorted in the Miami court complex. Authorities say the alleged plot never got beyond planning stages. The FBI says Raees Qazi traveled to New York in 2012 to scout targets but didn't attempt any attacks. He was arrested after returning to Broward County, Florida, where the brothers lived. During the hearing at which he pleaded guilty, he admitted to using an al-Qaida online publication to build an explosive from Christmas tree light bulbs. Sheheryar Qazi, a former taxi driver, supported the plot by paying bills, and providing a computer and cell phone. In calls to his brother, Raees Qazi asked about the size of crowds at Times Square, Wall Street and at some New York City theaters, the FBI said. Both brothers pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to terrorists and conspiring to assault a federal employee. Raees Qazi also pleaded guilty to attempting to provide material support to terrorists.

FBI: Tucson man arrested in conspiracy to commit terrorism in Arizona

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Arizona Attorney General's Office have arrested an 18-year-old Tucson man they say conspired to carry out acts of terrorism against government buildings in Maricopa and Pima counties. Mahin Khan was arrested in Tucson following an investigation by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, according to the FBI. He was booked into Maricopa County jail on suspicion of conspiring to commit terrorism. Attorney General's Office spokeswoman Mia Garcia and FBI officials said Khan's alleged plans did not involve the Fourth of July or any related festivities. “The Arizona Attorney General’s Office is working closely with federal authorities to keep Arizonans safe. We are not aware of any threats Khan made that involve the Fourth of July holiday weekend,” Garcia said. Garcia said there are no additional suspects and no current threat to the public involving Khan's plans. Khan has had his initial court appearance but court records have been sealed and no additional details were immediately available. A man who said he was Khan's father, contacted at his home in Tucson, declined to comment. Records show Khan lived with his family in a gated community near River Road and Camino Boscaje Escondido in north Tucson close to the Catlina Foothills. Additional family members could not be reached for comment. Neighbors who lived near the Khan family at a prior residence described the family as quiet, but declined to be interviewed.

Blast in Bangladesh

http://m.sputniknews.com/asia/20160707/1042560475/bangladesh-blast-victims.html#ixzz4DhDFgSDZ

At least 12 people were injured and one policeman killed in an explosion at Eid celebration, marking the end of the Islamic holy month Ramadan, in Kishoreganj district in central Bangladesh, media reported Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the US Bureau of Diplomatic Security warned of possible new terrorist attacks in Bangladesh after the deadly attack in a Dhaka restaurant.

The attack came just a week since on July 1, a group of armed terrorists took dozens hostage inside the restaurant located in a diplomatic quarter of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. The attack left 20 people, mostly foreigners, dead, while 13 hostages were rescued by the country's security forces.

I like the way we are going about dealing with international agencies and other countries in crushing sources of terrorism directed against India.

Canada has a large base of those who have nefarious intentions against our country, thanks to the debacle of not hunting them down when these terrorists were fleeing India, especially the Khalistani terror groups. The sad part is, we didn't conduct Mossad style hunting operations against these traitors.

Canada, UK, Germany and some countries in Middle East need to go on an overdrive to crush terrorism.

WTF is wrong with Pakistanis all around the world?

Romania, France, USA, UK.... why is it that all of them behave in the same way for conspiring in terror plots?

How the hell do other Pakistanis not expect people to suspect them of terrorism if this is the perception they want to create in the minds of all others?
