20 kilometres from Allepey is not international waters, unless the Italians believe that Allepey is a long lost ruins of a city deep under the ocean. The Italians, however, are free to believe whatsoever they want. The two marksmen were arrested in the presence of the Italian Consul. Let the law take its course.
There is already precedent for this when a Turkish destroyer was hit by USN missiles. JAG conducted the investigation and instituted punishment under the UCMJ. US Courts also handled the wrongful death claims. There is procedure for everything.
The crime did not happen in the Italian ship. Nobody died in the Italian ship! The crime was committed in an Indian boat. So the Indian courts ought to look into it, even if the incidence took place in international waters.
The finger was on the Italian ship, not the Indian hence no jurisdiction.
Not to worry.
They will learn which side of the bread is buttered!
When did shooting a gun become an offence? the crime is when the bullet kills somebody. That happened in international waters, indian waters or even effin italian waters, we have the murderer's of our citizen's, we know what to do.
Personally, I dont like your tone as well as your agenda ( race related) in this matter, I suggest you desist and move away, as they are people from my state and community and we are emotionally charged as it is, and we have no time to entertain your bigoted views presented in the form technicalities.
I think it is more of your own perception. Armand2REP did not make any explicit comments that are race related. On the other hand, he is entitled to his views and shouldn't be asked to move away. Let us counter him but not make accusations that are baseless.
----'em....They want to take their people back to their country and give an ease of punishment.
Firstly, Armand2REP is not Italian.
Secondly, can you not post without using swear words?
I am sorry, no can do. He has been given enough and clear explanations regarding the situation. I am not going to believe a man is a racist only and only if he explicitly says it, I am more than capable of making that judgement. Two people have been murdered, this is serious, our fellow citizens and brothers, and my community members. He should know when to give it a rest. Imagine if Indian merchant sailors killed French fishermen in French EEZ, International waters near france, french territorial waters and these people got caught, what you think they will do. Stop being the argumentative indian, just for the sake of it. We look like fools.
Indian law applies all over the world, the question is wether we can enforce them. In this case, we can. A crime has been committed on an indian and we have caught the murderer's , there is no provision in Indian law, which would allow them to be freed, since they are already arrested and have confessed to their crime.
But he is westerner's and most probably white, I explicitly told he is racist in his agenda. RACIST not equal to ITALIAN, or do you have some other dictionary
Exactly, we have'em and we will ----ing fry'em according to our books.
India maintained tough stand
The die was cast on Saturday when the External Affairs Ministry sent a message to the Italian consulate asking the Marines to surrender. But the Italians made one last attempt in 90 minutes of discussion at South Block on Sunday, government sources said, describing the two-day drama in Kochi.
“They tried to do their best, but it was strange that a European country was initially not willing to let its people obey the law of the land. India maintained a tough stand ever since the conversation between External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and his Italian counterpart on Saturday. A little later, the Ministry sent a message to the Italian mission telling them that the men will have to surrender,” they said.
Accompanied by lawyers, a multi-ministry delegation from Rome held discussions with Indian diplomats, offering a joint investigation and trial in Italian courts, provided the men wanted by the Kerala police were allowed to return home. With India sticking to its stand that as no diplomat was involved and the shooting was a criminal act, the Italian delegation also offered a trial at the International Court. This was also not acceptable to the Indian diplomats.

I don't like your tone. You are bringing race into an issue that it has nothing to do with. We have no time to entertain your bigoted views presented in the form of technicalities.
