Days after the arrest of a disgruntled RSS worker in connection with the Samjhauta Express blast case, the government today said more people will be arrested soon for their alleged involvement in bombing of several religious shrines, including Ajmer dargah.

In a statement, the Home Ministry said six terror cases -- 2006 Malegaon blast, 2007 bombing in Samjhauta Express, Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid and Ajmer dargah and 2008 explosions in Malegaon and Modassa -- are being re-investigated and one of them (Modassa) is on the verge of being solved.

All these terror acts were allegedly carried out by right wing extremist forces and their probe by investigating agencies are at different stages.

The Home Ministry said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Naba Kumar Sarkar alias Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Devender Gupta and a few others in connection with these six cases.

"Recently, NIA has arrested Kamal Chouhan and it is expected that more arrests will be made leading to solving of the above cases," the statement said.

Chauhan, a disgruntled RSS worker arrested by the NIA on Sunday, has claimed he had planted bombs on board Samjhauta Express that left 68 people, mostly Pakistanis, dead.

The Home Ministry's response came following a statement by Opposition BJP that no case of terror has been solved by investigating agencies even since the UPA came to power in the Centre eight years ago.

The Home Ministry said apart from Gujarat's Modassa blast case, investigating agencies are on the verge of solving three other cases -- 2010 blasts in Chinnaswamy stadium (Bangalore), 2010 shootout and blast near Jama Masjid in Delhi and July 13, 2011 serial blasts in Mumbai.

"Since May, 2000 there have been 46 major terrorist incidents. Of these, all but 7 cases have been solved. In 9 cases, convictions have been obtained. In the remaining 30 cases, charge sheets have been filed in 29 cases and trial has commenced in 19 cases. Two cases ended in acquittal and appeals have been preferred," it said.

Of the seven unsolved cases, four are close to being solved. The three unsolved cases are 2006 twin blasts in Delhi's Jama Masjid and 2008 blast in Mehrauli and 2010 blast in Varanasi.

The recent busting of an Indian Mujahideen revealed that the group was responsible for the blasts in Chinnaswamy stadium, (2010) shootout and blast near Jama Masjid, (2011) serial blasts in Mumbai and 2010 bombing in Pune's German Bakery.

"As regards the German Bakery case, one charge sheet has been filed, one of the accused is facing trial, and six accused have been declared absconders," the statement said.

The government and the investigating agencies are sparing no effort to solve every terror case and bring the perpetrators to justice, it said.

The BJP had recently expressed concerns over the terror attacks in different parts of the country and alleged that the government has failed to solve them satisfactorily.

After the way a decent man like Khurshed made an ass of himself and exposed his true worth, I don't believe a word this fool Govt has to say!

I had so much of respect for Khurshed.

He is such a let down as as good as a Moradabad brass seller under the influence of the mad Mullah!

Sooner these frauds and traitors to secularism that we all hold dear goes, the better,

But then, who will replace them?

Hope all extremists are caught and punished irrespective of there religion.

no doubt there will be political mileage extracted but that doesn't mean people caught are saints.

Notice the language right wing terror case. And on the other hand terms like Islamic terror or otherwise is actively discouraged.

The timing of the announcement sucks

It is all boiled down to gaining political mileage. Sadly the nation is nowhere in the priority list.

yes it is about political mileage.

what is other alternative ? dont catch them ?

id rather have terrorists caught with political mileage rather than no terrorists being caught because i dont want political mileage.

Will Maino shed a tear for these chaps also..? Or the tear glands get activated only in the case of Islamic terrorists ?

And FYI almost 90% of the terrorist acts in India are of the Islamic/jihadist hue. But in that case "terror has no religion"..but two alleged acts of right wing acts and we have the whole bogey of "saffron" terrorism.

Hypocrisy ? Yes. Indian Secularism ? Yes , Yes !!

I don't see the difference between the two.

Doesn't Islamic terror also qualify as right wing terror?

Left wing terror would be Maoists, Naxals, ULFA, etc.

Traditionally BJP and RSS have always been equated as Right wing, communist as left and the congress would like to be called a centrist party, but usually flits to the two ends- usually more to the right.

So when you say right wing terror then it is always the H word.

i dont think so...there are many left wing hindus also.

    right wing ≠ hindu.

right wing/left wing is political and economic stance rather than religious.

More to be arrested to get Muslim votes, more "confessions extracted", more retractions issued , finally no convictions achieved.
