@garg_bharat has already explained what ATAGS is now for the second part of your question. The IFG was a 105/45 gun which was never air portable via sling under helicopters.

The barrel is same 33cal of IFG but shockers are different and much lighter than those of original OFB`s, I am expecting same 24km range with special rounds than what Mandus originally offering 15kms with specials ..

This gun is little 300kg more than M777 we can sling to mi-17 for airlift right?

MI17V5 can carry 4,500kg of load on a sling, If its heavy than fuel will be reduce to make aircraft lighter for transportation of Guns to higher altitude ..

A Total of 168 number of MI-17V5 will operate in IAF by the end of this year ..

I think IAF has older Mi-8 and Mi-17 as well. Total number may be close to 450.

But this gun is looking so simple just a barrel and tripod like structure doesn't have any gun laying sysyem and automation

V5 is improved version. So higher payload as well as higher ceiling.

What mechanism does truck mounted arty employ to dampen the recoil? Are these guns made less powerful compared to field unit to reduce the shock? I am surprised that a commercial truck chassis can take the punishment for even a day.

It does not look like a commercial truck.

I think the truck has a heavy platform on which gun sits, and the platform lowers giant spades into soft ground before gun fires. So the stability is provided by spades.
