Do you find anything common between the photo I posted and this one ?

If you notice the guy in the left most in pic # 1 is the exact same guy in the middle in post # 6. He is now a Para commando.

I want to know the former unit (pic 1) from the insignia.

MP.net photos say they are garuds though I am not sure.

Are Garud commandos recruited from Paras ? Wiki says No. So how come a Garud commando become a Para ?

Garud airman wear the "Airman Beret Badge" on the cap. They are also parachute trained, and wear the Operational Paratroopers Brevet above the right pocket. The "Garud Force Patch" can be seen worn on the sleeve. The Garud Commando Badge, which was worn on the right pocket and resembles the NSG badge, is no longer in use. Instead they now have a Garud Winged Badge which is gold in colour and worn on the left chest, similar to where pilot/aircrew wings are worn.

The Garuds used to wear a black beret, instead of the traditional maroon beret of the other Indian Special Forces units, but now wear the maroon beret. They sport the operational paratroopers brevet on the right chest. The formation ensignia is worn on the left shoulder. The Garuds are also entitled to wear "IAF GARUD" titles on the sleeves.

All Jats look the same to non Jats!

Paratroopers are the only ones who can wear the maroon beret and that too when serving with a Para unit.

However, many still prefer to wear the maroon, even when not with the Paras and instead on Extra Regimental Employment, which is not correct.

Not sure about CISF, along with RPF, but I think yes.

CRPF and ITBP are para-military forces.
