Yes, it is possible on deputation or cross attachment. It is done sometimes to spread knowledge and experience in new units. the deputation would last for an average of 2 - 3 years.Given that the pic with INSAS is older is it possible for a Garud commando to move into the Para Regt ?

The Garud Commando Badge, which resembles the NSG badge, is no longer in use.

Other units personnel have to volunteer to join Para on a permanent basis and get selected and only after probation are they taken in!
Many fall by the wayside in the process.
And even after joining, if they don't meet the standards, they return to the Parent Unit as Non Para Volunteers!

I can bet on this one. They are Garud without any doubt. Look at the IAF crest hanging from below chest on the rightmost personnel. In others it is hidden due to their Insas.
