Chinese are in a dilemma they formed alliances with failed states and over estimated their
Capabilities. Now with a little economic pain they are starting to realize they are not a
Contender to USA or even close in the slightest bit. Economically or militarily.
China is the Arvind Kejriwal of geopolitics. Anarchist, shoot-and-scoot, "I am always right", super-ambitious.

A circus clown maybe a better analogy. Communist countries can never be world
Leaders.

So is this article aimed at Chinese audience or Indians? Seems the latter.

Not sure what has the Chinese's panties in twist. They are welcome to take their 'strategic partnership' with the Pakis to whatever level they wish; heck, share MIRV with them if they are crazy enough, crying over Indo-US relations is childish.

Frankly, how is a rivalry not a zero-sum game apart form the opportunities that India-China co-create? If someone is looking for investments, there is a finite amount and that amount will be divided among potential opportunities. There would obviously be synergies but beyond a point, rivals compete for a finite pie.

Economic ties will increase and no one is against that. BRICS for instance will grow to the extent in suits the stakeholders. In that case, India and China are on one side in contrast to US dominated IMF/WB. In other matters such as IOR, India would be against China; so what?

Apart from that what is this trap that the Chinese speak of?

NO, Chinese didn't ask your trust. Instead, they just remind you that American is not better than Chinese on credit history.
What trust? Who 'trusts' someone at a geo-political level. Let me assure you, both the Americans and Chinese are equally 'untrustworthy', its all a matter of aligning interests.

You ally with Pakis even to the detriment of India, so what? Are you going to stop doing so?

Will you support India's inclusion to the UNSC or NSG? If you feel threatened or it seems to be against your interest, you won't. That's fine.

Brics share no common ideology just a term coined for developing nations. 2 of the four brics
Economies will contract this year.

I agree, majority of Indians know nothing about South Africa except that "MK Gandhi was thrown out of the first class train coach". Brazil is a country which plays good football.

BRICS is neither an economic block nor a strategic one.

Well, BRICS is a decent idea if one can set-up a alternate to the current monetary system entirely dominated by the West. That ideally benefits China, India, Russia etc. Obviously, right now since China is the only country with real cash, its just them trying to grow this as the west will not give them the share they feel they deserve in IMF/WB.

Its unlikely to work due to China as you say, but its a decent thought.

A few of the BRICS nations are trying to settle business deals in local currency.
Such are important and significant developments which happens by collaborations.

What is the benefit unless you are facing economic or political isolation.
A whole spectrum of benefits...a whole spectrum of benefit..
BRICS nations finally agreed to cultivate a non dollar framework for settling deals..
The BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - have agreed to provide credit to each other in local currencies. Officials say the deal will facilitate economic growth in times of crisis.

The currency swap deal is aimed at promoting trade and investment in local currencies as well as to cut transaction costs.
It's also seen as a step to replace the dollar as a reserve currency in trade between BRICS.

"The idea is in line with many interests and economic exigencies in the world economy," Yaroslav Lissovolik, the chief economist at Deutsche Bank told RT. "The euro and dollar are no longer seen as unquestionable monopolies in the role of reserve currencies. Clearly the world needs more reserve currencies."

The deal would also increase the BRICS influence on the international arena and will make their cooperation less sensitive to sanctions from the West, experts say.

"The BRICS countries are in the first rank to do the job that international financial system now needs. What the BRICS said was a very welcomed wake up call," John Kirton, the Co-Director of the BRICS Reasearch Group told RT.

Russia and China have been trading in the rouble and yuan for several years, now Russia plans to expand local currency settlement with India.

"With China it took us three years to (evolve) from initial conversations to trading in local currencies," Vladimir Dmitriev, the chairman of Russia' s VEB told reporters. "I think we will meet similar terms with India".

Meanwhile the swap requires a lot of technical work by each country such as the synchronization of national banking legislation, according to Mr. Dmitriev.

The BRICS countries are also going to announce plans on a joint development bank which is considered a possible rival to the World Bank and the IMF. If established, it would function as a lending agency and would provide finance for joint BRICS projects.

"They made it very clear it would be built to benefit not only BRICS countries themselves, but developing countries more broadly," said KIrton. "But the big message was to give the World Bank more resources, only then would they see how the BRICS bank would fit in the supplement what they've already got."

Sure, listen to Chinese words of wisdom. In return offer them your own that they are messing with our neighbour and arch enemy Pakistan for the last fifty years.

If they listen to our advice.

Interesting....how many people here forgot that Paki was empowered against India for decades ...with billions of aid, Patton tanks, Sabre jets, F-16s and so on. Are Indians foolish enough to quickly forget the recent history ? I don't think so. In 1980s and 1990s....there was an axis (US+China+Pakistan) which acted together against India's interests. And it was during that time that China gave J-7 jets. Can you give one example of a high tech weapon, China has sold or given to Pakistan in last 10 years?
India will be doomed if west succeeds in making India and China arch enemies. They made and used Pakistan for decades against India...and you suffered and suffered in Kashmir.... When would you learn ? Making China your arch enemy is the goal so you fight their war to contain China.
China is giving a good neighborly advice as enmity between India and China will lead to destruction of both and the smart west wins again due to stupidity and gullibility of Asians. Don't fall in the trap....you will sorely regret it. West will laugh at your folly and enjoy ruling you for next 100 years.

Yes China is India`s greatest friend. They love us so much. They love India`s territory too. Maybe that is the reason why they took such a large chunk of our territory in 1962 war. Every now and then they have been showing great love and respect for India by asking for Arunachal Pradesh nay Tawang(maybe ie the correct name as per you). I am sure you would say that is justified as India and China are best of buddies and sharing nay giving up things to your friend is a good thing.

Also China is not funding maoists in India. They are funded by US-Mossad-Jewish Nexus probably. Also China has not restricted India`s entry to UN.(recent update:They are not restricting India to NSG too.)

Long live Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai.

Meanwhile you please take a look at the friendship/jugalbondi of India-China in our biased and foreign funded deshdrohi media.

New China map shows Arunachal Pradesh as part of Tibet : India, News - India Today
The Chinese government, in a new vertical map of the country, has shown Arunachal Pradesh as part of its territory, triggering controversy even as India called it its "alienable part".

China red-flags India’s entry into NSG, may push for Pakistan - The Times of India
China on Monday reacted coldly to strong indications that the United States would back India for a membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, with the Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying cautioning that any such move "requires very careful consideration from all member countries"
With Obama in India, China Praises Pakistan as 'Irreplaceable Friend'

China is a funny country.
They gave nukes and fighters jet and other weapons to pigistan and now they expect us to not to pursue an alliance against them.

Re: In R-Day message, China tells India don't fall into 'trap' laid by

 Indians r so hilarious. Their favourite is set up a Chinese strawman, who's upset, and churlish with heartburn for Indo- US Bhai Bhai, then Indians would shoot the imaginary bogeyman as much as they like.

First of all has there been a sober assessment of what substance India has gained from this hooooray? Climate change? investment? NSG? UNSC? Military t&t / sales? Freedom of navigation through the Indian Ocean?

China can block India from NSG and UNSC P-seat at will and loses not a dime out of your cozy-up. See? Americans have repeatedly raised their voice against Chinese on China Seas. But Chinese build-up and surveillance just intensifies day by day in defiance. Similarly business as usual with the string of pearls strategy.

Then who shall be anxious? Check who rushed to Delhi right before Obama's R-Day visit and inked numerous deals incl. building 12 n-plants? It's definitely Putin. US has already overtaken Russia in arms export to India. Now additionally US and India have reached the first commercial agreement on civilian nuclear power. Who is likely to lose the most in the competition? Russia of course! So, China only needs to sit tight and watch the Indian art of balancing US and Russia out or simply distancing Russians?! :pound: As a saying goes [One slave cannot serve two masters]. Chinese will always come out winners with Rus-Pak-China getting even closer!

As if China is a "trap-free" country? Both countries want the same thing. Dominate the region.
