Mach 2.5 while potentially is very unlikely, even with ws-15 will reduce so much thrust that the aircraft will suffer in acceleration, in few words at high altitude with fixed intake of DSI type the J-20 will deplete its fuel to say it will reduce its fuel reserves to a few minutes flight, so all what you wrote do not amount to real facts the J-20 is a Mach 1.6 or Mach 1.7 aircraft where the fixed intake can keep 94% pressure recovery, beyond that at Mach 2.5 it is not realistic it will deplete its fuel reserves in few minutes and will damage the engines.


So honestly read more to have speed of Mach 2.5 it needs variable geometry intakes with the ability to position the shocks outside intake lips and bleed the excess mass flow out of the engine, otherwise most of what you say is pure fantasy, not with even mixed compression with external and internal compression can achieve it without bleeding system and Variable geometry intakes
so dsi intake aircrafts doesn't have high speed.

F-35 is powered by f135 engine of 19 tonnes, it needs only a single engine contrary to J-31 that needs two to get similar thrust.

J-20 is not powered at this moment by WS-15, it is powered by Al-31 or WS-10, and your fantasy is to believe J-20 will be faster than F-35, the F-35 does not fly faster because contrary to Chinese propaganda the americans are not boasting but telling the truth, F-35 only achieves Mach 1.6 because that is the limit of DSI intakes, at such speeds they get close to 94% pressure recovery, thus the engine receives the correct mass flow without boundary layer distortion or supersonic flow.

Thus the americans are saying F-35 is a Mach 1.6 fighter.

J-31 has very weak engines and they occupy a lot of space thus you have an aircraft that is stealth just in name, in order for J-31 to carry a decent payload and enough fuel it needs external weapons hardpoints, basically making it an aircraft with low thrust to weight ratio, small wings and without stealth easy pray for aircraft like Rafale.


J-20 has enough space for fuel but still has weak engines and the intake is fixed, thus a Mach 1.6 also is the best speed it will reach without affecting the engines.

Mach 2 is possible but acceleration will be reduced, so compared to Su-57 can not compete you like it or not, at Mach 2 plus the supersonic flow ingestion by the engine is a very big risk and the engines can suffer damages.


So you like it or not, the best performance is not that of J-20, but the one of Su-57.

you seem to ignore facts do you know why the Su-27 has a straight intake duct?

answer: S ducts tent to distort the air flow to the engine, add S ducts increase the duct length thus increase weight, so while they shield the engine blades, they increase weight, distort the air flow and increase the length of the duct.

Why do you think F-14, MiG-29 or F-15 have the same design of intake duct that Su-27 has? answer for a high performance fighter engine air flow is very important when manoeuvring, Su-27 while doing Cobras or kulbits needs air flow with less distortion.




The Su-57 has a shorter less curved intake duct than J-20, F-22 or F-35 not because the Russians do not know about stealth, but because for Su-57 being a very agile fighter, a more straight duct design ensures better flow than the very long Duct of J-20, while the Su-57 has shown being very agile, J-20 has not shown any post stall manoeuvre, the DSI intake is not for speeds beyond Mach 1.6, while the caret intake of Su-57 with variable geometry ensures excellent pressure recovery beyond Mach 2 and is rated up to Mach 3.


The Su-57 is designed to fly faster, have a higher super cruise speeds than J-20 and being more manoeuvrable for sure.

Further more the J-20 has ventral fins increasing radar return and diffraction radar bounces, the big and huge DSI intake bumps also increase cross section frontal area increasing air drag.

Su-57 has a small forebody reducing drag, on Tempest the British reduced the lower cross section area of the chined lower part, thus reducing drag, something you can see is the Chinese copied the american design, the British upgraded it.


Just compare how fat is the forebody nose of J-20 and those large bumps make it fatter that is higher air drag than Tempest in frontal cross section
