Well, yeah!

That's what a traveller shouted freaking out at heavy snowfall Shimla has been experienced for the last 3 nights.

Sharing a few pictures taken early morning, this is the view i woke up to today morning.

wish i had a better zoom in lens, hopefully should have one soon.

the hill in the background, hidden and on the right of the pic, is the jakhu hill.

the building in the middle, on top, is the himachal vdhan sabha.

right below, an extended line is the cart road, that is what it was called during the british era, and so is called even today.

underneath, a smallish straight line, is the shimla railway station.

thank you very much for having worked on pic upload, who ever did it, thanks a lot.

yes NRJ, quite a sight it was this morning. imagine, parts of punjab, bordering himachal, for the first time have experienced snow, its been quite a heavy snowfall.

Saya, thanks. there has been electricity outage in the past 2 days, but since that is a rarest of the rare phenomenons, so one doesn't do anything in specific, they dont even sell inverters in here, so you can imagine electricity outage would be how rare. water, again no probs, they change the timing of water supply, though in the mornings the water pipes do tend to freeze.

thought of sharing the night picture of the hills across with lights twinkling, but having to click using no flash mode with no IS, which then makes the camera prone to record slightest of the shakes, and with temps below zero, finding it difficult to get a decent shot.

    Thanks guys,

    Sadakhush,

MC runs short on finances so labor is used to clean up the roads, its manual clean up. the response time is swift. the major roads are cleaned up within an hour if not less. but roads not under MC take much longer time to clean up if if its the national highway.

    GK,

anytime is good time. if you are planning to go beyond shimla, i would for now advise not to. there have been quite a few tragic mishaps due to ice on roads which cause slippage, and our roads without much protection arent the best bet in such a weather.
