US Federal gunmen threaten Nevada rancher, beat up pregnant woman

'It's a war zone': Pregnant woman and cancer survivor assaulted by feds in battle with southern Nevada's last rancher as private militias join the fight
  • Cliven Bundy is appealing for help to stop the Federal Bureau of Land Management and the FBI from removing his 900 cattle
  • He claims his family have owned 600,000 acres of Gold Butte since 1870
  • The federal government claims that the cattle are trespassing and have seized about 350 of the animals
  • Heavily armed federal officers equipped with 9 helicopters and backed up with snipers have have removed hundreds of the cattle
  • Claims of violence against the agents have spurred private militias to pour into the area

No passage: Federal law enforcement officers block a road into the land Bundy claims is his

Bloodied: Krissy Thornton, right, looks at blood from a taser wound on Ammon Bundy

Abusive: Margaret Houston, Cliven Bundy's sister, claims an agent threw her to the ground

A higher cause: Krissy Thornton, right, and Burgundy Hall protest Wednesday with others - they say the cows are a proxy for the freedoms of all Americans

Help: Supporters prepare to rally for Cliven Bundy at the Bundy ranch near Bunkerville Nevada on Monday, April 7, 2014

People power: People help erect a pole to hang a banner during a rally in support of Cliven Bundy near Bunkerville Nevada on Monday

See in this video how the gunmen threaten the civilians.
Ranch Riot!! Bundy Ranch Protesters Tasered by Federal Agents and Attacked by K9's. - YouTube

"No BLM! No BLM!" the protesters chanted to rangers in the middle of a two-lane rural highway.
What sounds likes zapping Tasers can be heard in the video.

In the wake of the publicized protests, members of various militia groups have been traveling from Virginia, Texas, Montana, Idaho and Wisconsin and arriving at the protest site and Bundy's ranch to support the family, said Stephen L. Dean, 45, of Utah, a member of one such group called the Peoples United Mobile Armed Services.

"It's tyranny in government," Dean said when asked what brought him to Nevada.

And, he added, "stealing people's cattle."

One banner at the protest side stated: "Has the West been won? Or has the fight just begun!"

After armed militiamen from all over the US arrived in support of the rancher, the federal bandits decide to back off.

Maybe Lavrov and others should go there and distribute some cake and pastries.
Or perhaps some of our MPs can push for a resolution expressing "considerable concern" at police brutality in the US against civilians, on the lines of the the bipartisan resolution that was introduced by Congressmen Keith Ellison from the Democratic Party and Joe Pitts from the Republican Party last November.

Victory! Nevada's last rancher gets his 'stolen' cattle back after federal agents agree to back down in 'range war'

  • Bureau of Land Management would not enforce court order to remove cattle and was pulling out of the area
  • Politicians have compared the standoff to Tienanmen Square
  • The Bundy family says they've owned the 600,000 acres since 1870 but the Bureau of Land Management says they are illegally grazing
  • The dispute began in 1993 when land was reclassified as to federal property to protect a rare desert tortoise, the government claimed
  • Federal officers stormed the property this week with helicopters and snipers to back up about 200 armed agents
  • They have reportedly seized around 350 of Cliven Bundy's 900 cattle
  • Cattle were handed back to rancher after tense standoff
  • Tensions escalated after private militias poured in to support the family

The federal gunmen release all the cattle that they had robbed from the rancher.

Celebration: A supporter of the Bundy family flies the American flag after the Bureau of Land Management agreed to release the Bundy's cattle near Bunkerville, Nev. April 12, 2014

And they're out: The Bundy family and their supporters drive their cattle back onto public land outside of Bunkerville, Nev. after they were released by the Bureau of Land Management

No horsing around: The Bundy family and their supporters fly the American flag as their cattle were released from a corral

Citizens pray, and celebrate

Cowboys and patriots: Kholten Gleave, right, of Utah, pauses for the National Anthem outside of Bunkerville , Nev. while gathering with other supporters of the Bundy family to challenge the Bureau of Land Management

Cheers: Protesters pump their fists as cowboys herd cattle that belongs to rancher Cliven Bundy

How was this possible?

Firepower: Protester Eric Parker from central Idaho aims his weapon from a bridge next to the Bureau of Land Management's base camp where seized cattle

Armed: Brand Thornton, of Las Vegas, blows a shofar on a hillside above a protest area on Friday

Say no to US "law enforcement" thuggery

Violent: An officer is seen firing a taser at Ammon Bundy as an aggressive police dog goes after him

Lesson?

If you are nice with the US government, it will treat you like dirt. Don't be too nice or polite with anybody - it is often mistaken as a sign of weakness. Keep them on their tows, and dig in your heels when it makes threats. The best weapon to fight the US government is information, and the challenge is to overcome the propaganda blitz and echo chamber that it creates using media control.

What is sad is that we depend on a British news magazine to hear and see this! Shame on you CNN!

in the words of Bundy's daughter: My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the survival of their cattle, all with their own money, not with tax dollars. These rights to the land use are called preemptive rights. Some where down the line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land management. They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of their ranges while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be used to pay the BLM wages and to help with repairs and improvements of the ranches. My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no longer using his fees to help him and to improve. Instead they began using these money¿s against the ranchers.

You think this is a stupid post?!!!!!

1) This post has been made in Americas thread, which makes the post relevant.

2) This incident shows what a democracy may become, if the Govt. is not questioned by citizens. Or did you miss the fact that the Govt., whatever the hidden motive may have been, unleashed a havoc on a citizen? Or would you have preferred had the tasers been guns?

3) Or did you miss the fact, when this MAY not be an interesting post for Indian fora, the mainstream news of USA had given it a pass?

4) Or did you miss so many times the saviour of freedom has encroached on other nations' sovereignty to teach the value of personal freedom? Or so much preaching to us Indian they have poured down?

As a matter of fact, the Point No. 1 alone makes it relevant enough, that calling the post stupid makes one wonder about some people's ability of comprehension or bias.

FoxNews really played this up and news media becomes larger part of the story. The issue of grazing rights and fees can be settled in the courts. I have no doubt federal agencies needed this (temporary) setback, but Senate majority leader Harry Reid says, "It's not over" and we know he is a vindictive man.
