IMO, from the Indian perspective, a strong America that can stand up confidently against China is a must for the next century. China will become the biggest economy sooner or later and that's is when no.2(US) and no.3(India) have to work together to make sure that the global order stays open and democratic.
However, what GW Bush did by his misadventures in Iraq and bungling of the right war in Afghanistan is that he brought the day China would over take America from 2040 down to 2020. And if any of the Republican candidates who like to play to domestic politics and trump unilateralism as a version of Bush 2.0, then they might even bring that down to 2015. I don't want US to get anymore weaker on the International arena which was what Romney and in particular Santorum not to mention Gringich's policies would do. Ron Paul does not count at the moment as he is not a contender really.
And on Israel, Obama has done more for Israel than any US president in history. And that is a paraphrased quote of Defence minister Ehud Barak as well as Shimon Peres.
Crucially with agreed upon "Land Swaps". This is pretty much what the 1992 Oslo Accords about. Rabin and George HW Bush talked about the same. Bush junior emphasized this as well and supported the Arab Peace initiative which is based on the same idea.
Not to mention that the UN recognizes the West Bank and Gaza as occupied territories and the settlements there are considered illegal by almost everyone in the UN except Israel and the US. There have been numerous votes on this which reiterates that.
In fact, a true friend of Israel would encourage it to withdraw from occupied territories rather than continue to hold them and cause problems for itself.
In any case, Obama's help to Israel is acknowledged not by me, but the Israeli Defence minister among others.
Not comparable because India is directly impacted by what Pakistan does.
The US is not directly impacted with what Iran does. It may be in Israel's interest for the US to fight its war with Iran so that it doesn't get involved or loose soldiers, but I don't see how it would be in the US interest to go to war with Iran. Particularly given that US troops are stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that this would be a third Muslim country US would have invaded since the beginning of this century without UN mandate and in opposition to International law (Assuming it does not take the UN route that is)
