Just Terai region ? Dude entire Nepal is Hindu territory, and that by default makes it part of India. Let them dance a bit with their communism & Chinese randibaazi, at last we will merge it within India.

Will just backfire in short run.

This entire Kalapani issue never existed, it is being intentionally fabricated by Chinese stooges to irk India. Same for this currency thing, it changes nothing, locals give zero fuck if their currency has some territory which they can always visit, it is just to take panga with us.

India-Nepal always had free movement and trade, and there never was any reason for territorial dispute.

What China wants is to bog us down with multiple territorial disputes so that we can't focus on China itself.
